Raise a Glass or two to Leo & Anna Of The Sol Y Mar & not forgetting El Ancla
Who Are Retiring at the End of this week.Wish them Luck' good health and thank them for the good food good wine and wonderful happiness Shared over Many Many Years.

So sad that Leo and Anna will no longer be at the Sol y Mar. We also had many happy times both at El Ancla and Sol y Mar. We wish them well in their retirement.

Well, What can I say. Almost 30 years through the best and worse times of my life and there stood the old El Ancla like a fortress.

Then on to the Sol Y Mar and the same madness carried on that you would never find in any other place.

Those that experienced it will know what I mean. Priceless just about sums it up and now its finished.

These days it feels like my whole world is collapsing around me.
However, that's a selfish point of view and my problem.

To Leo& Anna I thank you for experiences I will never forget.

There's an old saying " Money couldn't buy it "

That certainly applied to what took place in those 2 restaurants over the decades.


PS. Leo, If you fancy doing a Sinatra and coming back I will welcome you with tears in my eyes.

Last year we arrived to help wire up the Street lights. Glad to see the road will be completed when we arrive again 2 weeks today. So nothing for us to do . Great Job Nearly Done ..

Opening under the new management on Saturday 28th April at 20.30h.

We went to the opening. Very impressed, very Spanish and very much hoping to open all year round which this area of the port needs very much. Please support them and other local restaurants/bars that need our support to keep them going especially if times are going to get tough

Teflon did you chance to see the menu, are they trying their own thing or keeping a Sol Y Mar touch.

Hi L2S, we could not sample the menu as buffet food was provided for the evening. However the menu on display was simple Spanish much in the way of El Ancla and Sol y Mar. We will definitely give it a try on our next trip

Many thanks Teflon, we will give it a go next week, it was our place of choice for the past few years for a beer, snack etc. The new management may be trying to keep the old customers, no doubt the wife will be looking for 'Abuelo's' chair.
