Hello there
I've found some really reasonable flights from the UK to Palma and now I'm looking for somewhere to stay. My husband went to Puerto Pollensa many years ago and loved it so we'd like to take our family there now. Can anyone recommend where we could stay? Somewhere where we can book directly without going through a tour operator? There's myself and my husband, a 4 year old and an 19 month old toddler. I've tried booking through the Villa Parade site and the minimum age requirement is 2 years (gutted!). Also, we may only be able to stay a maximum of 4 nights. Also, what's the best way to get from the airport to the resort? How long does it take and is it sensible to hire a car? I suppose we're trying to get as good a price as possible
Many thanks! So many questions!

Hi Sara

Check out the private villas/apartments section on this site (top left) or some of the local agents (2 links below the previous one) . We always book this way. You don't say what month you will be coming. Most private owners require 7 days let in high season - usually Saturday to Saturday. If you search on the private apartments, the individual pages will tell you the requirements.

If you are going out of season then owners will probably be more flexible.

With regard to transfers as taxis are about £70 - £80 each way so you may be better off getting a car with a child seat if you are only on the island for 4 days (longer hires necessitate having to pay for a full tank of fuel). Have a look at the various topics on this forum and the car hire firms listed (link on this page as well). Alternatively you could look at one of the shuttle services under "Airport Transfers and Taxis"
The trip from the airport is pretty straightforward - takes slightly less than a hour. Again if you seach on this site there are various threads regarding getting from the airport to the port.

Hope this helps and that you and your family have a lovely time in Puerto Pollensa.

Hi Sara

We went with Villaparade to the Siller apartments in June last year with a 9 month old baby. They must have recently changed their policy then ?? They are an excellent company, what a shame.

I think hiring a car would be cheaper than a taxi if you search for a good deal. Just put in "cheap car hire Mallorca" on the internet and have a look. The company I've used most are Record. Not the newest of cars but cheap and they work!!

A taxi for the 4 of you from the airport plus luggage, which they do charge for, will be about 100 euros each way to the port. At least with a car you have freedom.

It's a 50 minute each way steady drive. The motorway forms about 75% of the journey so it's relatively easy.

As for accommodation, again just do a search or go through this site. At least on here they should be well recommended.

Have a great time and I'm sure you'll want to return.

Hi Sara,

welcome to the forum.

Please can you try & ask one question per topic so that we can move them to the appropriate forum. This one is for accommodation.

There are plenty of discussions on transport on Car Hire, Airport Transfers in Majorca - Pollensa Forum & airport directions are on Directions from Palma airport to Puerto Pollensa Majorca Mallorca

If you are interested in Pollentia Club Resort as mentioned above, booking options are at www.puertopollensa.com/hotels_apartments_pollensa.html#clubpollentia. However it is a little away from the resort - you will see it on the location map.

Hi Joelise, your link doesn't work, I think the smiley is to close, you may need to edit that bit after the backslash out, hope you dont mind be saying :), I am interested to see the link

Thanks for doing the edit for me :) We have stayed in another apartment on Las Mims as well so I will try and help if there is anything anyone needs to know, also a couple of owners post on this forum aswell.

Wow - thanks everyone! So much to go on, I'm really grateful for all your help!
