Some early sunshine

I think there may have been similar threads before but I am in need of some restorative sun after a rather stressful time before we come to PP in June. I think the Canary Islands would fit the bill weatherwise and wonder if anyone can recommend a resort perhaps in Lanzarote which is similar to PP, ie no "strip" of bars and clubs but a nice relaxing place with a good beach which would be good for a quick break in the next few weeks. Preferably with some sightseeing or places to visit as well.(Unless someone can magically add 20 degrees to the temperature in PP!).

Yep.
Playa Blanca for me too.
Some nice restaurants on the beach ala PP with a row of shops on the second line behind.
A small beach on your doorstep that is nice enough and a bigger beach ( with sunbeds and umbrellas you can pay for about a 10 minute walk away ).
A lovely marina a little further away too.
Not huge amount of sight seeing to do ( Timanfaya Volcanic National Park ) but you can get the ferry to Fuertaventura too.
That said, we are off to Gran Canaria tomorrow morning for our week of winter sun but this a more brash resort (Puerto Rico ) that it sounds like you are looking for.

Totally agree with Playa Blanca. Was out there in January and it really reminds me of PP. Some really decent restaurants including, coincidentally, a Brisa Marina!

Thanks everyone for such quick replies! I had thought of Costa Teguise but Playa Blanca sounds perfect. What a coincidence about there being a Brisa Marina!

Tango fan, I've also stayed in Costa Teguise. It is a lot more spread out than Playa Blanca and also tends to be more windy. Playa Blanca is certainly going to be more to your taste if you love PP.

The Brisa Marina restaurant is well worth a visit. Other best restaurants are Romantico and Chalinitar. If you get there, I really hope you enjoy it.
