A few restaurants in the Port served Valentines menus yesterday and some are doing it again today.

We went to Casa Vila last night and i must say it was one of the best meals we have ever had, first was a welcome cocktail of Prosecco and fresh orange juice, then we had Foie Gras creme brulee with a D'Asti Moscat marinated apple chutney and Milanese brioche. Panceroti of king crab in a saffron and spinach sauce served with radicchio slaw. Grilled hake with a confit of cherry tomato and white wine served on crisp basil leaves. Pistacho and Amalfiano limoncello sorbet. Veal fillet in a Marsala wine sauce and crunchy Umbrian guanciale served with a poato and truffle puree. Dessert was a chocolate fonfue duo served with exotic fruit skewers and caramelised marshmallows.
The service was excellent and the food was amazing, 6 courses and a red rose for me for 38€ pp :D:D.

I 'liked' this for Sparkys red rose. Nice one, Colin ;) :)

Love Casa Vila but...

I'd have struggled with Foie gras and veal on the menu 😒

Had a really excellent lunch in Casa Vila today - my daughter and I both had a burger craving and it was the best we'd had in ages - with delicious homemade chips and chutney. Other daughter had lasagne - which looked amazing and was such a generous portion it should keep her going all week - and OH went for the set menu - salad followed by pizza. We were very impressed by the staff and ambience - think this is going to become one of our absolute favourites.
