Following on from the 'Must have meals'-discussion which restaurant in PP or the old town would people rate highly for ordering steak?

And any suggestions on how to order the steak to get it the way you want it?
I believe the interpretation of the various levels can vary widely.

I do recommend the Corb Mari. They have a good choice of cuts and it is really good quality. Medium is probably roughly equivalent to medium-rare or even rare in the UK.

We have also had fantastic steaks at O Lume - he does smaller portions if you don't have a vast appetite - the biggest one even defeats my husband! Again it tends to be served bloodier than in the UK - I usually ask for mine to be medium but 'sin sangre' - this seems to come out the same as a medium steak in the UK.

Porterhouse steak in Tango Nd steak at restaurant Silkar are both to be recommended

I would say go 1 up from whatever you would order in UK so if you normally ask for medium rare in UK go for medium in pp

The chateaubriand for two people at Casa Vila is divine. And you can cook it to your liking on a hot stone.

In Pollensa the entrecôte at Ca'n Teresa is also the best IMO :p

Personally, I would say Corb Mari every time. It's not the cheapest and perhaps not quite the same since the three older chaps who used to run the place seem to have all retired in the last year or so, but the location is spot on, great ambience and the steaks are really very good.

In all fairness I've had excellent steaks at other places in the Port, but Corb Mari would have to be my first choice.

Corb Mari every time for last 23 + years but it is expensive and VAT is on top of advertised prices at 21% so beware. Rib of beef on the bone is to die for.

Go and have a look at the meats displayed in front of the charcoal BBQ before you sit down to order to see what you might get, as for how well done etc go up at least 1 on the scale to UK so if you like rare go medium etc.
