Has anyone else found it difficult to book a room for June/July next summer. Had a very nice reply from the hotel we hoped to visit and they are unable to give us a room past 1st July. :(

Eeeek, that has got me in a state of panic - we did book for this year by mid-August of last year, but haven't got round to it for one reason or another.

I wonder if that is a consequence of less owners renting for fear of being fined?

We booked in July of this year, for July 2014, just to make sure we got the lovely beachfront apartment we like best. It also happens to be hundreds of pounds cheaper than most others. We don't know why, as it has all the same amenities as other beachfront properties, it even has a larger terrace than most of them.

As varsp we booked our beach front apartment in July this year for August of next year. Means we always get the one we like.

Hi Sheila, Booked the apartment we stayed in for the week in September. Loved it!!! Might see you in June x

Recommend directly contacting hotels

Hola all, Advance apologies for raving but I am very happy! A few days ago I was contemplating going elsewhere for our July '14 jaunt (we are spending Christmas in Nerja largely thanks to positive references to the town on the forum, thank you for that!:) and had considered revisiting the Malaga area next summer). This was due to the fact that neither Jet2 nor the hotel website itself showed availability for a room with a balcony at our beloved Hotel Villa Singala.

We did briefly dither about staying elsewhere (we enjoyed Sis Pins in its Globespan-run past, and Mar Calma also really appeals, AND both are much more central - less of a walk hame in the heat and humidity!!). And perhaps a year off from Puerto Pollensa would be healthy...? ...Dither we did. For all of a few minutes!

But I must be honest, for us as for so many other guests, Singala really has become a bit of a home from home. Not at all fancy, but comfortable, clean, run with superb efficiency and staffed by utterly salt-of-the-earth folk, to us it is pretty near perfect (well, maybe the occasional cooked breakfast would be nice but that is just a tiny niggle!). Anyhoo... enough rambling, so keen was I to find a room there that I emailed the manager Josep directly, and was delighted to discover that there was actually a room available - so, FINALLY, to get to my point, it really is worth contacting the hotel or apartment directly even if it appears to be booked up!:D

Sorry again for my long-winded ramble!!! :D
