Great news. Can't wait to visit the new Restuarant when out in about 3 weeks. Good luck to Josep and Lucie - a lovely couple.

The MDD which included wine, water, bread olives and ali oli on Saturday was 20 euro's. Choice of three starters, mains and dessert. He had a different special menu yesterday lunchtime.

Good luck to Josep and Lucie. Lovely couple who deserve to do well. The Meerkats and Captain Pete will definitely visit in August!

20 Euros...near enough £15 at current exchange rates...Excellent value for money

I'm back in the Port for a long weekend winter break visit to my apartment with my parents and we took the short taxi ride up to Josep's new 'Ca'n Josep Ca Vostra' for dinner last night. The taxi ride was only €6.50 and worth every penny!

Josep has done a great job refreshing the interior of the restaurant and, for a cold, wet and windy Friday night there were a good number of people coming through the door creating a buzzing ambience including a group of 8 locals arriving for dinner at 10pm - always a good sign of approval!

In addition to the regular menu, as others have mentioned, Josep has added a menu del dia focussing on more local style cuisine. Three courses plus a lovely house wine and a great choice. My father went for a tuna and red pepper omelette followed by chicken fricassee. I went for the arroz marinero followed by lomo con col. My mother went for the three fish salad from the main a la carte menu.

The portions were enormous and cooked and presented beautifully and Josep, as always, was the perfect host.

The restaurant is currently closed on Thursdays and on Sunday evenings but Josep lays on Sunday lunch which he says has proven to be very popular locally since opening. Another plus is that Josep has had high speed 20MB WiFi installed by ib-red which is available to all customers throughout the restaurant.

All in all we had a lovely evening and look forward to further visits later this year!

Thanks James, looks like it may need booking for a meal rather than rely on just walking in! What a great start for Josep and Lucie! :)

I took a group of 35 in on Thursday lunchtime. We sat downstairs and it was much cosier than before. We had an excellent meal and everybody was very impressed.

Sounds great! I too never found the old Ca'n Josep very cosy - this sounds much better. Hopefully if he can build a loyal local clientele while other restaurants are closed then they will keep on returning when the season starts. Plenty of people do after all live/stay at that end of the Port so I don't see that the distance from the marina is a problem really.

Ca'n Josep

Great to hear Josep and Lucie's restuarant is proving popular in its new location. Was always our favourite in its old position and looking forward to trying out the new. Arriving this weekend for a quick 5 day visit to open up the apartment for Easter and will certainly pay a visit or two!!
Unfortunately I have lost Josep's email address and would appreciate anyone who has it letting me know ASAP either through a post or PM.

I have a wager that Tango will be in the top 5 this year now it's back in the town, Josep not in top 5.

Naughty boy

:):)Hi Snowy,

You can win or lose. Personally I hope Tango will be in the top 5, they deserve it and work hard as us, we will keep trying to do all our best as usual to give all our clients the food and the service what they deserve. If you lose your wager, hopefully, but with Tango in the Top 5 also, I will invite you to come and have a free meal in our restaurant with a couple of bottles of wine... jajaja
See you soon my friend.

Met up again with Josep last night at his new restaurant and what a good job he's made of the alterations. Usual friendly welcome and good food. He also overheard us say our heater was not working at our apt and kindly offered to lend us one he was not using - what a wonderful gesture - it's really helped us out no end until we can get our heating fixed, as the weather is cold wet and windy at the moment. Full marks Josep. Hope your upcoming season goes well. You deserve it.
