Taxi drivers strike

Sorry if this has been mentioned in any other threads but I hear the taxi drivers are striking on Wednesday. Does anyone know if this is a local strike or if it is the whole island. Also is it just taxis or are bus drivers part of it as if so looks like I'm gonna have a long wait at the car hire desk.

Hi MWC yes i reported this story here :- http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/miscellaneous/8389-whats-news-15.html post number 216, i think the Palma taxis may join in but have not heard anything about the local drivers, to be honest i don't think they can afford to lose a days work.

Thanks sparky, I think the local drivers must be striking, as my mother in law was told no taxis would be available on Wednesday because she needed one to take her to the airport. We have been ok as been able to sort something else out for her.

The strike, which was a national one, was called off a couple of days ago.

Pleasure. Another false panic over. Actually, I misread the feed; it was called off earlier today. My mistake, but the result's the same.
