Taxis in September

Is it still difficult to get cabs for local journeys? Staying out of Port. Usually get bus in, taxi back to hotel. I gather it's been busy this year. Will we get one at the rank in next 2 weeks, or is there a reliable number to book? Thanks.

where abouts do you stay? The buses between the port and the old town now run until 00.25.

Club Pollentia, on the way to Alcudia, bus stop Can Capdebou. Having checked the TIB timetable it seems we can get out of town until 23:00 now, which will be late enough for us.

looks like the last bus, from the bus station in PP to Alcudia, is 23,25.

We are travelling out 7th October with Jet2. A private transfer was also booked.

A couple of days ago Jet2 emailed to advise....

"For reasons outside of our control, due to the local supply of private transfer vehicles and private transfer drivers, there may be a longer wait time than usual on your arrival into Majorca. Upon arrival at your transfer point, you will be notified of any additional wait time. As we know you want to get your holiday underway as soon as possible, in some cases, you might be offered a shared..." and a 50% refund (conditions applicable)

Surely the shortage of drivers can't be a Brexit 'benefit'

It is not a shortage of drivers, people are finding hire car costs are too high and are using taxis instead.

It's also partly due to the pandemic when some taxi drivers had to find alternative work.

Had problems getting cabs in the port of an evening. No problem from the hotel other than long waits. Reception would call one for us.
Worst was trying to get a cab from the market on a wednesday, not that many waiting just no cabs. All at airport I suppose.
