We made a point of going to see The Hustlers on Friday night they were playing at O'Hara's from 9.30 onwards. First time we've seen them and they were very good but unfortunately there were too many people smoking, so had to leave after a short while, shame as we would have liked to have stayed for longer :(

Saw them in the Irish bar one monday night in mid October.

Great band but too much smoke for me.Serious question - does Spain/Mallorca recognise any smoking restrictions?

I had the pleasure of listening and chatting to Carol Kidd singing with the Hustlers last night in Paris. Remarkable singer.

It certainly was! The atmosphere was perfect for their type of music and to see Carol for the first time was a real unexpected treat.Perhaps the smoke helps her to have such a real Jazz voice!
Passed by OHaras on the Friday just after 10, but they hadnt started yet so we didnt stop. I would like to hear the change of the two different venues though, so will put that on another "to do" list. Doubt that the drinks will be as cheap there though!;)

The Hustlers were brilliant again on Friday but O'Hara's was packed so had to move over to Nostalgia.

A nice hot tip has come to my ears in that Guillermo (bass guitarist of The Hustlers) will be playing a regular solo set in Mulligans on a Thursday night, as from his Dec 2nd (his birthday) and he has also agreed to play in Mulligans on Christmas Day. Should be really good for those that are in PP in December.

Yes they are still playing Friday nights in O'Haras, not sure if they are on Sundays in Hostal Paris though. :)

Hi alcanadakid i found out last night that they are still playing in Hostal Paris on Sunday's and The Shamrock in Alcudia on Saturday's. :D

.......and the good thing is you can watch them now without having to suffer the cigarette smoke, should be a much better experience.

Thanks Sparky, The Shamrock is our favourite so we will be there next Saturday. I can never believe how the Shamrock transforms from a sleepy bar into one bursting at the seams in just a short time.

I saw Chris last night and he told me about their new website, here is the link :- The Hustlers
Obviously they will add more venues when the season starts.

I have just had an email from the Hustlers, the sad news is that Luis is in hospital after having a minor stroke 2 days ago and he is having heart bypass surgery today. My thoughts are with him and i wish him a full and speedy recovery.

I spoke to Chris tonight and he said that Luis had come through the surgery well but he will obviously not be able to play for a few months.

Have just had this news by email from The Hustlers:- {Luis's heart surgery went very well, and is expected to be back home within a week. Although he won't be back drumming with the Hustlers for quite a while}.

Thanks for the reports Sparky. We heard abourt Luis this afternoon whilst we were at the Marina (Fatcats playing). We were going to O'Haras last night, but, somehow we didn't get there. Glad it's good news re Luis recovery.

Thanks for the news update Sparky

We were in PP for just a few days and set out to go to O Hara's on friday night but having eaten and drank to the full at Little Italy, the fact that we had been up at 4am for an early flight the day before caught up on both of us and we just wandered home to bed like a pair of old fogies.

We then heard the news from someone we know on Saturday but he had no details ...... someone else then told us they thought he was doing ok but it was all a bit chinese whispers so it good that we have the definitive news on this great forum

I am sure Chris will read this and know that we are all wishing Luis a speedy recovery.
