I'm sorry to interrupt the "Saint Jaime Fanzine" that's going on here, but I posted an observation few days ago that went unacknowledged, and I feel I should revisit.
When I was out in PP five weeks ago, Jaime was well established as the new "front of house" at Zarzales, and Yolanda was absolutely delighted to have him on her team, and was very positive about how this would (as a working mother and business owner) relieve a huge amount of the pressure she was under. She was genuinely delighted.
Apparently, Jaime was re-organising the wine list, and would play a very real part in the restaurant's future. So presumably, whilst masquerading as Zarzales' future, "Saint Jaime" was actually re-negotiating his lease, and planning to re-open O Lume.
Of course, I have no idea what the truth is. But if there is any truth in this, I'd have to say that is a pretty shabby way to behave.
I never bought into the O Lume legend.....I respect fully the opinion of so many of you who loved the place, but three mediocre meals and one dangerously undercooked pork dish cooked the goose for me.
To all of you who love O Lume......SORRY! But I cannot help being honest, and I cannot help my total belief that there are standards in business life that we all should aspire to, and when they appear to fall short, they should be be examined.
The truth would be a good place to start.

Here we go again! Only time will tell, but why have people got to make assumptions, fishing as they go along. One of PP,s finest restaurants has risen from the ashes, regardless wether you like it or not it's great news for the standards we wish to see maintained in PP, if you don't like the restaurant then don't go, simples!
OK guys please lets not turn this into a slanging match, you have voiced your opinions so lets leave it at that.
At the end of the day none of us know what contract/arrangement there was between Jaime and Yolanda, knowing both of them, they are far too professional to make this info public knowledge.
All i will say is be very careful what you post on here because if this becomes defamatory or slanderous it will be removed.
Thank you.
As a holidaymaker to Pollensa personally i do not care about the if's and's and but's regarding Jaime's previous employer.Just glad that a top notch restaurant is back in business![]()
I have just had a call from Jaime and he will be opening either this Thursday evening or Friday.
