Following on from cala san's post about 'the horse' I've been meaning to post about the 'puppy' in the mountain
If you look across the bay from PP just to the right of La Victoria you can clearly see a puppy's face . It's got a button nose and long droopy ears and looks like a King Charles spaniel!!
Oh you have got to be kidding me Jimbo! A hamster??!! You cannot be serious!![]()
How about the hooded monk with his arm pointing to the sky, only seen on cloudy days to the right of the puppy And from around June until September on sunny days the main mountain can be either Quasimodo's face or the top of a gorillas head ,depending on the light. I may well of missed it but never seen anyone refer to the lion that sits on the top of the vincente mountain range to the left.
OR it could just be the Vino effectAnd there is even a name for this concept

But we probably wouldn't recognize faces in the the clouds at all if not for a neat brain trick called pareidolia, the technical term for the common human tendency to seek out and find familiar patterns in random objects.
It's why a camera artifact might look like a base station on Mars , or ice floes look like crashed UFOs to some folks. But humans are especially geared toward seeing faces, which partly explains why people have reported seeing the face of Gandhi on Mars , as well as the iconic "Face on Mars ."
