Yellow alert for coastal phenomena !!

Hola amigos. We did see bit of sun yesterday and then had some heavy overnight rain, it's dry but overcast this morning with a stiff N wind. There is a yellow alert out for CP for today and tomorrow but things are looking good for the rest of the week .
The pressure is 1020.
The temperature is 11.2c.
Yesterdays low was 7.1c and the high was 15.8c.

Coastal Phenomena !!

It's probably been asked before but just what is coastal phenomena !!

Hi FloraFluff, i have tried to find out what this "Coastal Phenomena" is ( it seems to be a Spanish thing) and the best explanation i have been able to come up with is that it's the equivalent to a "Squall", in other words, a sudden storm which can be quite violent and short lived .

Coastal Phenomena!! See what you mean now Sparky.A few years ago we stayed at the Illa d'Or and were taking breakfast out on the terrace. Luckily just finishing off when a CP (angry black clouds)rolled down the Formentor road on the hill behind us turning a pleasant sunny morning into a dark, blowing, cold and wet weather event.
The parasols chairs and cushions we're blown into the sea, along with a number of breakfasts
Happily it disappeared just as quickly as it had arrived.

Hola amigos. We had a few light showers yesterday but there was also a few long sunny spells. This morning is bright with a mix of sun and cloud but there is a very strong N wind blowing and we are still on yellow alert.
The pressure is 1022.
The temperature is 11.6c in the shade and 16.2c in the sun.
Yesterdays low was 9.5c and the high was 16.7c.

Easter Weather

Please, can anyone remember what the weather was like last Easter,

Mixed, which is what you can expect I think, we had showers as well as some sunny days, cool at night still as well.

Last Easter it was quite nice the Easter before it Rained heavy almost every day and night but the year before that it was sunny and beautiful every day in fact we were out in the boat every day that year over Easter. So as SWS says mixed is what you can expect and prolonged Sunshine is a Bonus. Make sure you Pack a Mac

If I recall rightly it was a mixed affair - a few bright spells but with some rain.

We fell in love with PP coming every Easter since 1994 ish??

The weather has ranged from some excellent hot dry days to Chilly cold Wet days.

Easter is a movable date, so can occur in March or April, which can affect the weather expectation. We always packed for the worst!!

One year, cant remember exactly when, we stayed at the Uyal and had torrential rain for most of the two weeks!!

The road outside the Uyal and grounds were flooded to the point that you could not get out of the hotel without getting very wet. Well over the tops of our hiking boots (we didn't pack wellies!!) The Hotel were worried it was going to flood the ground floor!!

We used to escape out of the back and jump from one high spot to another to escape. I can remember having to dispose of rigamortised? dead cats that floated past, before my wife would venture out!!

I can remember Richard Strutt cancelling or reorganising our guided walks because of the weather! We have been on some lovely walks around the museums and galleries of Palma in waterproofs and hiking boots, as a result, - much to the amusement of the locals!!

Having said all this however, we still had a great time and have continued to return!!

I must say that I think we were unlucky that year and have had some wonderful weather so don't be put off.

We are out from the 6th March before Easter and will be wearing our winter hiking gear on the plane out!! just in case!!
