We have certainly had a lot of rain recently, here is a report from the Majorca Daily Bulletin :-

Reservoirs have collected one million cubic metres of water since Friday

The water reservoirs El Cuber and Gorg Blau near Puig Major have collected one million cubic metres of water from the recent downpours over the Tramuntana Mountain since last Friday.
They are now just over their 40% capacity, a similar level to the one registered during the same period last year, when figures were around 41%.

Sparky - 40% capacity doesnt sound very much, but presumably it is the average for this time of year, - they must have gone down a lot during the summer to only have reached this level after all the recent rain. Presumably, they go higher during the winter when there is more rain.

Re the Gorge Blau and Cuber Reservoirs which are situated in the mountains at the side of the main road between Lluc and Soller.
Gorge Blau is the larger of the two and in March 2013 (last March) it held 6.5 million cubic meters of water, 90% of its actual capacity. Cuber, the smaller reservoir, held some 4 million cubic meters of water, 94% of its actual capacity. Roughly between them they were 92% full. This was plenty enough to for the authorities to guarantee the available drinking water to Mallorca's population for the forthcoming season though the authorities still regard water as a somewhat scarce resource that needs to be used sensibly and carefully.
No doubt with snow and heavy rains, the reservoirs will once again fill to similar levels over the next few months. Water is also supplied by wells , bore holes, bottling plants and many if not most people rely on bottled drinking water, a trait we have been steadily following here in the UK for some years now.

Is all the power out over the Port? Or just the Moviestar internet?
Be careful out there peeps.

We have power Jiggs but i think the Movistar exchange building (which is just down the road from me) got hit so all Movistar land lines and internet are still out. I am relying on my kind neighbour's mobile connection but don't want to take advantage :mad:.

Whoopie all back to normal, the man from Movistar has just switched us back on :D.
That storm caused so much trouble for businesses in the Port, people couldn't phone restaurants to make bookings, cash points out, also supermarkets, shops and restaurants couldn't accept payments by card .
