Ok so the rules are same as restaurants

Top 5 and you HAVE to have used them this year

I use the term Bar loosly ...... It can be a night time bar or just a great place for a drink in the day time

So I will start

Now can we also have a top 5 bars thread

1 Batucada
2 Laguna
3 Nostalgia
4 illa D'Or terrace
5 Llonja Cantina

I will try to do a scores so far at least once a month

Top 5 bars

1 bonny's
2 Bon dia
3 Tameralls
4 batcuda
5 Laguna

1. Cappuccinos - one of the most beautiful settings in PP

2. Nostalgia - love it, makes me feel 21 again!

3. Miramar - cheaper alternative to No. 1 ......

4. Illa D'or Terrace - a must, afternoon or evening couldn't be in PP and not visit here!

5. Laguna.....great, great place and lovely to see Miguel back.

That's my top 5 but would like to mention Marina Cafe...great Carajillo, used it a few times in the evening, seemed to get the same friendly waiter each time and made good use of their wifi and got to enjoy Mariano Miranda playing at Daina at the same time....perfect!
Sorry I never got to Batucada this year.

Great idea, mine so far just from the winter trip, might change for the next few visits!

1. Geminis 18, most friendly bar in the port, great for watching the football, even though they are a Real Madrid bar, forgive them for that!

2. Bar Rumbo, great for an early evening drink on the way into the port, great homemade Tapas as well

3. Nostalgia, of cause, great for late night drinks, sometimes very late !

4. Circulo Cultural, best bar in the square, great for people watching and good location for the forum meets.

5. Marina Cafe, great location for drinks lunchtime or evening.

1. Illa D'or (great for a stop off en route into town, olives to die for!)
2. Match Point (great for kids on an afternoon, play pool etc while we chill overlooking the bay from upstairs).
3. Cultural (lot of locals, great value, great spot).
4. Bonys (although kids dont run round after the sweets any more!)
5. Nicos (ran out of bars but they always have a nice beer in iced glass)

PS. Where is Geminis 18?

1. Terrace at the Miramar
2. Terrace at Cappuccino (if feeling flush)
3. Terrace at Yacht Club (feel like a millionaire without spending like one)
4. Terrace at the Hostal Bahia (lovely location right on the beach
5. Marina Cafe/tied with Corb Mari cafe - very similar location, lovely relaxed places, friendly staff (I know I'm cheating and have nominated six, but I genuinely couldn't choose between them!)

well I'm not really much of a drinker  however:
1. Los Faroles - Cold beer, warm welcome and a great view- difficult to beat !
2. Geminis 18 - discovered this on the tapas route and expect we may be using it more often now (Just so long as Toni from El Posito doesn't find out we've been to a Real Madrid bar :) !)
3. Bar Juanito - ideal spot re-hydrate after walking to the big Eroski
4. Bar Rumbo - worth popping in just to see what sort of mood Al is in :p
5. Circulo Cultural has to get a mention just for the forum meet-ups

Lol, does Al have another mood then :( only joking bless him!! such a lovely friendly couple. Was going to say about the tapas route at Geminis, always very popular but hope it doesn't get to popular else we will have to wait for a drink!
I wont tell Toni if you don't, has he got a beaming smile since the end of the season?
:)

Have not been to 5 different bars yet but currently sitting in a very quiet Cafe l'algar bar as Bony's has shut for the afternoon, having my two afternoon beers surfing the web to see if the mighty Palace have bought anyone yet.
Bonys still my number one but did enjoy La Bodeguita on the ruta del tapeo.
Our 12 days of heaven end on Thursday :(and when I am home I will give an honest review of our time here and the bars and restaurants that we went too.

In no particular order:

1) La Batucada - for the party atmosphere.
2) La Bodeguita - for enjoying a beer and tapas with the locals.
3) Can Balanche - for a pint and footy.
4) Bar Bon Dia - ditto above.
5) Ikebana - for a beer on the terrace in the winter sun.

Not there till August but my top 5 would be
1 Laguna-The pool,the wine,the food,the service and the wine.
2 Tolos-Best pint in the port. Cant beat an afternoon with a bowl of mussles washed down with a few ice cold ones while watching the sights;)
3 Ila Dor-Afternoon larging it down the money end. Few GnTs for the missus and the beer comes a close 2nd to Tolos. While the kids play in the sea.
4 Tied between Boneys and Cultural- Love the square. Boneys for atmosphere, the later for value.
5 Nostalgia-Knew about it but only succumbed last year due to friends....Few Kareoke sessions:o And dawn walks home:confused:
Also got to add a few late ones on the balcony and a cool box and bottle opener on Formentor beach take some beating too:D

Top 5 - actually used this year.
But only out of those that I was able to visit in the time that I was there.

1. Hotel Miramar - late evening under the arches on the terrace (the original part).
2. I'lla D'or Terrace - where better with such a wonderful view across the bay.
3. Bar Bodeguita - frequented mainly by locals, good tapas, a 'good well run house'.
4. La Cantina - nice to look at the Llouts in the locals/fishing harbour.
5. Circulo Cultural - In the square, for people watching or a quick beer on Market Day.

Top 5 - actually used this year.
3. Bar Bodeguita - frequented mainly by locals, good tapas, a 'good well run house'.

Not to mention the menú del dia at 8e for three courses inc. wine and water. Excellent value and very tasty.

My selection would be:-
1) Tofols bar especially on the night of the tapas route where they very often move 600 tapas per night on Thursdays, by far the best tapas.
2) Marina Cafe (the one near 1919).
3) Geminis. Especially when Barca are playing Madrid (Real that is) great atmosphere.
4) Circulo Culteral just to people watch and if you can get served.
5) Cafe Max, great chill out bar when the music is not too loud....

My selection for the first visit of the year:

1. Battucada - gin and tonics
2. Nostalgia - mojitos
3. C'an Toffel - red wine
4. Illa d'or terrace - cava and the view
5. Flora aparthotel - brandy alexanders

Hi, where may I ask is Bar Bodeguita?

June nearly over

Only 2 more days to get your June results in folks

I won't give away the top 5 for June yet but can say that we have a frontrunner but it is very close

Also interestingly we have had 12 responses and 28 different bars mentioned

2 Bars have been mentioned by 6 of the 12 respondents and 14 of the Bars have only been mentioned by one person
