Trencadora ???

Howdy folks.

Have any of you foodies tried the above ?

I would be interested to read any reviews as I wouldn't mind giving it a try on my next visit.

We went there a couple of times last year. It is a fabulous setting in an old building with a beautiful courtyard garden - has been through various incarnations over the years, and has been Trencadora once before - this was quite an upmarket restaurant serving 'ecological' food if my memory serves me right. However, this then closed - then it became BaBel, for probably less than a year, and is now Trencadora again. It is currently (or was, in October) largely an Italian restaurant, complete with red-checked tablecloths, with very good pizzas made in a wood-fired oven and a number of other Italian-type dishes to choose from. Good value and popular with local families. I'm not sure I'd go there for a special occasion despite the beauty of the setting but for an everyday meal it is thoroughly recommended. Slightly hard to find though - go to the Square in the Old Town, walk towards the Cafe Cultural and then turn right and keep walking - it is down there, and you know you're in the right place when you hear the splashing of their dramatic water feature!

I agree that the setting of Trencadora is beautiful (it used to be an almond mill) and was perfect for a special occasion. We never went when it was BaBel as when we looked at the menu it appeared very German (Sauerkraut and any other German food's really not my bag) Returned to Trencadora last year and the food was good..lovely pizzas and pastas,and the sevice was friendly, but as Kate said not quite the same as going for a really special meal in the lovely surroundings.

Yes,the girls are spot on!,should we ever doubt you ladies!
Excellent pizza/pasta etc,they do a nice beef stew with potato and around 7 euros for mains. The setting is taditional in a lovely building,worth a visit,nice staff also.

Almond mill? Surely olive ? Average pasta and pizza buty great setting,

Looks brilliant. Now thats the way to a girls heart - Can Vidalet all night long! Dates don't match mine though, so really hope they do another one when they do. Thanks for the info Snows!

Tasting menu sounds excellent,Im there in April so may give it a try.
Just up my street,Im more of a "towny"but still lovePP also.
Its got to be good with the new management because Cantonet was always good,especially on summer nights to sit up on the old courtyard on the top street level.
Ahh happy days doesnt the summer and PPjust fill you with nice thoughts?

Fell into the old "almond mill" with a few friends tonight. Place absolutely buzzing but they managed to squeeze eight of us in. Incredible value for the quality of food. Admittedly we only had a main course each , couple had fish, couple had pasta and the remaining four had pizzas . Had four bottles of plonk all but one vino de la casa but wine buffs shared a Can Vidalet at 20 euros . Two of us had coffees . Total bill 143 Euros , yes for 8 of us.

Incredible value for the service and quality of what we had and you'd have paid twice that for the ambience they offer alone.

Gonna be a big hit this season methinks

I will not be going to Trencadora so got the BBQ out and garden furniture out today all teak oiled up ready for our blazing Easter, golf tomorrow and Saturday. Just topping up the tan I got last week. Love to all in PP.

Been to Trencadora many times over the last year, consistently good food at a good price. They have recently expanded the menu with more pasta and meat dishes. Beware some of the €7.50/€8 meat dishes are small, so you may need a starter, but the pizzas are huge and the best in town.
