Work has been ongoing in the car park beside the municipal swimming pool, it was just a graveled area but they are now laying tarmac and there will be garden areas. As far as i know it will be free but don't quote me.

Here is a report from the UH El aparcamiento junto a la piscina del Port de Pollença contará con 135 plazas » Part Forana » Noticias » Ultima Hora Mallorca

Parking poolside Port de Pollença will feature 135 seats.

The City Council of Pollença has begun to enable the lot that borders the bypass and the indoor pool at Port de Pollença to turn in a parking 135 car spaces , four for adapted vehicles, and an area for parking of motorcycles and bicycles .

The plot of public ownership has an area of 3,400 square meters. Of these, 280 square meters will be used for gardens.

Councilman Services area, Martí Roca , explained that since the parking one will open direct access to the sports center currently being remodeled to facilitate user access to the sports arena. Also open access for pedestrians from the ring road. "The idea is that when the doors are opened new sports, the asphalt works and illumination of solar, and the delimitation of the parking spaces have already been finished " said the mayor of Pollença, Bartomeu Encrypt .

The works have already begun. The Consistory estimated that about three weeks the car park is ready.

It will be lovely to see a smart new finish to the carpark, although I am always a little sceptical of tarmac in hot weather with no sunshade! Visions of being stuck in melting blackstuff! I'm sure my concern is totally unfounded as they would have totally different mixture than they do in the UK where we have it melting at the slightest warmth! :o And to be fair, the photo does look more "bitty" than just tarmac ~ and I have given up on high heels anyway! ;)

Yes it must be a different formula, i can remember sitting on the kerb sticking lollipop sticks in the melting tar in summer .......obviously when i was a child and living in Plymouth, it didn't take much to keep me entertained ;).

Purely for research purposes i might try it here in August :D.

The smell of tar always takes me back to primary school and summers in the playground!

One of us like smelling tar in the playground!

One of us liked to stick lollipop sticks in the tar!!

I must have been brought up badly!!!

Not yet - although I think the wife is getting suspicious!!!!!!

Just checked Sparky's weather report, and I can safely say you will be OK to wear them today!

The local police have reported on FB that the car park is now finished and is open :D.

Upgraded car park

Very impressed it looks good. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Thought I did read the car park was also going to be used for coaches, lorries and broken down cars, and a lot of locals don't want this and understandably so.

I think that report came from the opposition party in the council, maybe just politics as it's an election year .

I watched from our balcony themen painting the white lines very good job they did as well. Parked my car in their last night.

I had a look over the car park yesterday and I was probably thinking the same as the elderly gentleman was, if it is going to be used by coaches etc then the ashpalt base is too thin !!.

Does the road sign at the entrance mean coaches allowed or coaches not allowed? I thought a red circle meant not allowed. It doesn't look like there are markings for coaches from what I can see.
