Vanrell - any concerns

Hi - have been reading the threads in relation to car hire and noted a couple of mentions for Vanrell and Terry's. I have looked at these and the other usuals and Vanrell are coming out at really good prices for 2 weeks in September. Does anyone have any concerns about using this company? Thanks

I haven't used Vanrell but often use Terry's who have always been very good and can recommend them. Perhaps someone else will have feedback on Vanrell's for you.

We used them once from their Alcudia office and our experience was dreadful. The English guy who attended to us (note I don't say "served") was everything that typifies the worst of ex-pats. He was scruffy, uncommunicative, unfriendly and unhelpful. His only conversation was a series of grunts. The car was old and dirty and came with a teaspoonful of fuel.

We would never ever use them again.

Vanrell Car Hire

We have just used Vanrell-Aug 2010 as they are a supplier to Villaparade who we booked our villa through. Incidentally I would highly recommend Villaparade.
The problems with Vanrell well are too many to mention in great detail.
Poor service, battered cars delivered with a drop of petrol, local British rep who acts and sounds like a second hand Arthur Daley style used car salesman, no initial support when suffering first of 2 flat tyres within half an hour,unanswered phone calls, left with no spare wheel from Tues teatime to Sat of our 7 day hire, chaotic drop off at airport . Please avoid.
They are cheap and flexible in terms of delivery but you ultimately get what you pay for.

We have used Terry,s car hire twice and i would really recomend them, we never actually saw anybody the car was left in the multi storey car park and that is where you take it back as well so there,s no queing (nice fiesta in good condition)

Unfortunately this matches our experience too.

We have used them twice, once via VP and once a direct booking.

Although the cars were not new and possibly a little more worn than expected the service we had from a Spanish guy at the airport was second to none. The car had enough petrol, probably the amount left in by the previous renter as they have a empty/empty policy.

Maybe it was the Spanish service that stood more than "Arthur Daley"?

However, looking at their prices for a weekend in November compared to Auriga Crown (with Economy car hire) They are 40 euros more expensive!

Just to say that we used Vanrell this year and they were excellent. Delivered the vehicle to the apartment when they said, car was great and no problems.
Price was excellent and we would definitely use them again.
