It appears that on Friday Villaparade obtained a Court Order against Travelopo, and that the Court issued to the applicants a number of temporary injunctions against Travelopo restricting their recent activities. We now know that up to 90 properties previously in the Villaparade portfolio in the Pollensa have been affected by events that have become public information this week. That is huge and explains some of the chaos that we have experienced as customers.

Harters,

Try Vintage Travel, ive used three times and recommend. Mallorcan Farhouses have 50% off villas if travelling in next few weeks, only used once but villa was super.

Also recommend Mallocan Farmhouses, we used them a few times and found them very efficient and they have some lovely villas!

All customers, or potential customers, of either Villa Parade or Travelopo should read the news that Villa Parade posted via their website home page yesterday (Friday). It says they have obtained a court order against Travelopo and Mr Roger Fenton, a Director of Travelopo. There is then a lot of detail to read. To get that full info one needs to click on the "Click here for latest news" link.

Almost as important is another link that lists the 90 or so properties in Pollenca & Puerto Pollensa area that are impacted by this horrendous situation.

Thank you KWUK2 - I was about to post the same. The link to the Press Release is here Press Release - Villa Parade along with an option to download the list of affected properties.

As mentioned previously several alternatives are offered on PuertoPollensa.com

from UK Villa Companies and
Local Rental Agents based in Mallorca

to Private Villas & Apartments advertised by directly by their Owners or Agents

and if you are travelling in May or June, do check out the Last Minute Rentals as many are offering deals as well.

I do hope that this situation gets resolved quickly and those poor people affected eventually get to enjoy their holiday in Pollensa this year.

I can only say that about 4years ago my friend
Rented her villa via VP and was never paid in total even though it was rented out all season. It has been an ongoing problem.

It does seem strange that (apparently) only villas in the Pollensa area are affected - there doesn't appear to be an issue with Villa Parade cash flow elsewhere. Very odd.

We've never used anyone else other than VP. Are there any other companies that folk particularly recommend?

As well as many of the companies already mentioned here (NOT travelpoo though! ) we have used sealand villas the last few years, they advertise here and have been very good quality villas and good service.
Villas in Majorca to Rent | Sealand Villas They hardly ever get a mention here for some reason.
The prices also include an Autos Roig hire car which is one of the best car rental companies so that makes the prices reasonable in my opinion.

Has anyone managed to receive a refund from Villa Parade? Have tried telephoning on more occasions than I care to remember but no answer ( I do realise they must be busy) have e-mailed too but still no response since my request for a refund! I realise this is an difficult time but it really doesn't fill me with much hope of receiving a response from them so I guess the next step is the credit card company! Just wondered what response others have received.

Jelh, I understand that refunds are starting to come through, albeit not as quickly as you might like - but certainly some people are receiving refunds.

VP's recent post on the TripAdvisor thread is categoric that the problem only relates to the Pollensa area and, presumably, only to some of their Pollensa properties (as some remain available on VPs website). I'm sure we can form our own conclusions about what may have happened here.

I feel sorry for some of the villa owners that will loose out.

Looking at one of the properties that I am familiar as it's where me and my wife rented for my 50th Birthday last February I see this particularly luxurious property on the edge of the old town with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, indoor and outdoor pools that was almost fully booked from April to October on villaparade is nearly empty on Travelopo even in July, August and September :(

There have been some large price increases on Travelopo so we wont be staying in that property again and neither will many other people by the looks of it.

VP Refunds or Response?

Has any one has received a reply or refund from VP since declining the alternative accommodation and requesting a refund have received no response at all and it's impossible to get through via telephone. I realise they must be really busy but customer service is nil at the moment and can't possibly doing a lot for their credibility. Any info would be really appreciate

Refund

Hi there

We received a refund when we got back from holiday.

They did not offer alternative accommodation to us or return our calls until half way through the holiday.

All very stressful and not something I'd like to go through again.

Hope all works out for you.

I have not read all the posts so maybe I am repeating something that someone has already posted however I contacted someone who is sat in the middle of all this last week for a friend of a friend. As far as I know, I managed to secure them the 5 bedroom house that they had booked with VP, with Travelopo who were going to honour the same price that they had paid Villa Parade. I was also told that VP knew that contracts had not been signed with villa owners who are owed a huge amount of money from 2013 and they were told consistently throughout 2013 that payments must be made before any further bookings were accepted. From what I understand from this source is that VP owe a massive amount of money to owners, cleaners, agents etc. in Pollensa. If you had booked with VP, contact by email Travelopo and hopefully you will be able to secure your stay in the same property and then contact your credit card company if you paid this way. Good luck to all concerned. I really hope you manage to enjoy your holiday once all this is sorted out. Sad times for Pollensa.

Unfortunately JMD this is mostly hearsay.

The only things we know for sure are that :-

(1) Travelopo have had there ABTA license revoked.
(2) Villa Parade have obtained a court order against TO as stated in their press release here :- Press Release - Villa Parade .

I don't want to worry anyone but the Villa Parade website has been down for most of the day - a message says it is being updated - hopefully this isn't too significant, but it's yet another difficulty for those who are trying to rebook villas.

I've read elsewhere that they've tweeted that this is due to upgrading their list of villas. I've tried looking on twitter but but you need to request to follow them to view their tweets. :(
