Weather in late August

Hello. Generally what is the weather like the last week of August and early September? We are looking to have a week in the port, flying out around 28th August and will have an 11 month old so don't want it too hot (or raining!) I've visited before around mid Sept and it rained pretty much the whole holiday thanks!

Sherberts, we were in PP last year from Sunday 25 August to Thursday 4 Sep. It was cloudy when we arrived and on the Monday there was the mother and father of a thunderstorm; but apart from the first couple of days, the rest of the time it was warm - a bit cloudy and breezy. We didn't need jackets at all and ate outside in the evenings. Our 3 & 4 year-old grandchildren spent all the time on the beach. Although our daughter would have liked it without the breeze, I think it would have been good weather for a little one. It certainly worked for Grandma!

Thank you both. My husband has put his foot down for an end of August due to the rain - now looking at possibly the second week of July but judging by how hot it was last year, that might be a no too. Or was that a one off Sparky?!

From my experience of having visited Mallorca during almost every month of the year at some time, the weather can be very changeable. Yes, July and August will be hot but often in May and June you can have rain and certainly chilly evenings in May.

Then there's always the chance of a good thunderstorm. I've been told by locals that February and November are the wettest months. Mallorca is an island in the Mediterranean about halfway up the eastern coast of Spain so it will not often get the searing heat and dryness of the south of Spain.

Going late August into September should be good but you could experience showers once into September. Put it this way, I've never felt really cold anywhere in Mallorca, certainly not like in the UK!

The other thing you have to realise with PP is that it is surrounded by the Traumantana mountains so geographically because of that the weather can be changeable. For me though, the mountains are one of the many things that make PP what it is.

Absolutely , swimming back to the Pine Walk looking up at the mountains is one of the most wonderful things in life.
