Weather - what to pack?

We fly out on Saturday and like most people check the weather forecast. Thing is, yesterday I checked and it was supposed to be 90% chance of rain. But on the web (the one that looks out to the marina ) it looked ok .

I dont mind when there is a sudden storm and it blows over as quickly as it came in but not hours and hours of rain. There is only so many times I want to sit in the room reading ,I can do that at home!

cant say the rain would keep us in doors reading. The days it rained we donned kagools and went into either pollensa or alcudia old town for a wander and lunch. It was damp but not cold and we didnt dissolve!

On the whole it was 50/50 sun and cloud/rain so not bad. Still had plenty of time on the beach baking.

What to Pack?

I was there in Mid May and the locals seemed amazed at the amount of rain and cloud.

We have been to Mallorca in May, July and September before and never encountered such weather. Much as we enjoyed the holiday, it was the worst weather we had suffered whilst on holiday EVER, and we've been to mainland Spain, The Canaries, and several States in the USA!

Raining, cloudy or sunny - how I wish we were there now!

Came back last week after not very good weather at all, but it seemed to be improving. Wrong! My brother is over there now and the weather has been worse than here!!

We got back yesterday and it was the worst weather we have encountered in the years that we have been going to PP at the start of June.

Out of the 10 days we only had about 5 of full sunshine, but it didn't dampen our enjoyment. Ironically the day we left it was absolutely glorious!!!!!

We're optimistic so we are packing toothbrushes and Thongs, and of course White Ties for Formal occasions!!!!!

Good luck to all of you - Im sure it will be on the change for the better soon.
One word of advice, the wet weather has brough out the mozzies in force, so take appropriate action. Use plug ins in your bedrooms before you go out at night and have the bedroom doors closed, they do like to get trapped in the sheets sometimes!!

Hey everyone . Im new to all this and I would just like to know what the webcam is your all talking about . Seems quite interesting . I've just figured out how to use these forums and now I think I will have a go at the webcam so if anyone could tell me that would be great . Yve x
Also to people going out to PP soon . Personally I think its best not to read the weather forcast as everyone gives a different forcast . Hopefully it will get better for everyone now in June because I was out in May and for 2 weeks we didnt have one nice full day . Have nice holidays Yve

Well I am not really counting but 4 weeks and 2 days to go...fingers crosssed that "normal weather conditions" will prevail....we were in PP the end of April and it seems we had the best of the weather that week...pity there were no hamacas

Looking like normality has been resumed, the rain is beating down on my window here in the south and looking at the webcam its looks like a brilliant day there, lets hope it continues for all you people going over soon, thats the sun over there not the rain here!

Welcome to the site Yveee
If you go to Miscellaneous/New web cam in PP you will be able to click on a link that will take you to the Barnard Hamilton web cam. There are two cameras, one in PP overlooking the sea and the other in Pollensa old town. The cameras are not always available, if you wait for 30 seconds and nothing happens just give up and try again another day, but it's good when it does work.

OMG - this is a real hot topic this year!! We were out in May...off the fifteen days, we had in total nine wonderful days...so I suppose we were quite lucky although it was the first time we've ever had rain!!! It was so unpredictable this year and that was the problem ....you never knew what you were wakening up to....always taken it for granted before!! Like Nicky said, I would rather be back there regardless of the weather!!!! I do keep my fingers crossed that it remains nice for all going out....Have a great Holiday
