Yes, that worked for me. Updated Flash player & now its perfect.
Thanks very much for the links,Mike!

Works for me too! Just in time to see the fireworks, not!
Ooh, cloudy this morning :(

Thanks Mike. At work at the mo, will try it later.

Cheers,

Nick

You being cheeky BD ; - )

Hi Nick, me thinks its an Axis prob youve got rather than flash. Do you have Axis installed?

Hi jigggy, no I don't . Just trying to sort things out now !

I only have to go onto the Stay website and it knocks my computer back with an error report and I have to load everything up again !

Ive just sent you a PM Nick, with instructions about downloading Axis.
Did the Adobe not work?

It's always difficult to try and find out from afar what's going wrong. There could be plenty of reasons. Some suggestions below.

I'd say make sure first that Windows XP
- is up-to-date
- has the latest drivers installed

There is a bit of work involved in that and you'd have to do a bit of research.

As a starting point here's a Microsoft Knowledgebase-page -
How to troubleshoot hardware and software driver problems in Windows XP

As it's the Stayrestaurant.com-homepage that causes your laptop to crash my guess would be a problem with the Java environment.
The links below might help you to find out if Java is enabled and which version you're running.
The page also has some info how to upgrade if necessary.
Java Tester - Is Java Enabled?
Java Tester - What Version of Java Are You Running?

Here is also some additional info from the Axis website about the supported browsers -
Axis Communications - Network Video Support

I'd try installing Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome and see if you have the same problem when accessing the Stay website.

Great reading Mike. I never use IE myself so cant comment on it. I'm a FIrefox man or Safari, and it works fine on both. I have read that IE does not like Axis, so that could be part of Nicks problem. Give it a try on FF Nick, if all the above fail.
I really cant see it being an Flash prob as i can use the webcam on my ipad, and as you know, Apple and Flash just dont go together.

I always use IE and it works for me fine, so not a problem that way, as you say also works fine with safari

Hi all

Thanks for the info.

I'll give it all a try and report back !

Cheers.

How nice after the webcam being out of action to click back on it and see clear blue skies, thanks Stay for fixing the webcam

Well said Joanne. It does look beautiful this morning. Thankyou.

Stay Web Cam

Just checked the Stay Web Cam to see some chap making adjustments.

He appears to be installing some timber slats, possibly for shading purposes. He is now sawing one slat to allow clear view for the web cam, I think.

Oh dear, whats the point in putting up a camera if you are going to build something in front of it
