I've managed to wangle 3 weeks off, and have hired a place for 4 weeks (joining the family after a week). But with the £ slipping, and following a major home renovation, we will be tight this year (as many seem to be).

We are self catering and our game plan will be to spend around 500 Euros a week (less than normal). We love a couple of bottles of rose with a nice seafood pasta or steak before strolling into the port anyway, so plan only to eat out every 3rd day or so. Alternating great value lunchtime MDD's with the occassional C'an Curassa or Stay treat shoukd work.

Main secret for us will be to do a big Alcampo shop on say 1 and 15, as we've found the prices there (just on right as you leave Palma for PP) to be MUCH cheaper, particularly for wine ..which can be easily 30-40% less than in many Port supermarkets.

A couple of pool days at the start of each week, should hopefully top up the fund for a nice day 3 splurge is our thinking.

I've seen the £1200 in 2 weeks budget, based on eating out well every night.

Just wondered what everyone was now putting aside given all the site feedback?

Either way the forecast looks as awesome as usual!!!:)

We never budget as such. It costs what it costs.

We'll be eating a mix of higher end restaurants, some cheaper places and eating in some nights (can't pass up on the quality and freshness of the produce - salad, bread and bang on the BBQ whatever fish looks great).

Sounds a nice mix, and previously we've taken the same attitude over shorter 2 week breaks. If your strategy doesn't quite work out try ... www.debtrescue.org.uk
