Who is running the forum ?

There's clearly an opportunity for someone to come up with a new web site featuring all of the things to do and places to go.

Currently there are numerous Facebook groups offering this information, but they are not as simple an experience as clicking on a web site and having up to date information laid out in front of you.

The problem is that people are 100% more likely to go to Facebook than a website. People don't use websites for up to date info any more. They mostly use socials as replies can be instant and conversations can take place. Websites require too much time to keep up to date and usually there's nothing in it for the owner.

I suppose there’s nothing to stop one of our resident contributors taking on a daily weather report, and for that matter any of us can start a “who’s coming out” thread. I don’t know who runs this thing now, but it’s certainly not a patch on what it once was. However, there are a number of regular contributors so I guess it’s up to us all to keep tapping away and making the most of what we have.

Personally, I prefer the website option as I don't do any social media. I know that may make me seem 'out of touch' but it is my preference.

GG - sorry, I didn’t mean my post to be a showstopper. It seems to have been to be a poor attempt at sarcasm (which is known to be the lowest form of wit). In ‘real life’ I’m quite a sociable person - some years ago we bumped into each other in Moll de Bellagio (I doubt if you remember but we had a chat and I explained to you the source/meaning of Teacu). Anyway, the thing is - what are the Owners of this site doing? They obviously own the Domain ‘puertopollensa.com’ and anyone Googling for information about this fantastic place are directed here. And imo it’s embarrassing that some of the information provided is so out of date and this useless.

You make a valid point about the site. “Radio Silence” always seems to follow criticism, which I suppose means one of three things……the owners don’t read their own Forum, they are embarrassed by criticism, or don’t care. Whenever they do respond it seems to me that what emerges is either a sob story about the difficulties they face in life, that prevents them from spending enough time developing the site, which makes me wonder why they took it on in the first place. Alternatively, there’s a suggestion of updating and development being undertaken by some undisclosed third party. Either way, it’s a pretty poor show and far removed from the former glory days of our Forum. There’s a well known phrase about “p***ing in the wind” that adequately sums up where we are with this.

I totally agree. So unprofessional of the owners, almost running away than facing the music. I'm thinking about deregistering, if it is possible?
