Been reading up on car rental here for our trip to PP in June 2008, and tried a few recommended suppliers but managed to get a significant saving with hopefully no downside!!
Firstly, user Recar who are a broker I think but a fair bit cheaper than the others. we used them last year and got a car from Goldcar with no probs at all.
However, when clicking the link to Recar touristic from this site the cost was more than I had got earlier this week. I double checked and if you go to their site direct the price seems to be about €15 less for a fortnight!?!?
So get a quote from www.recar.org instead.
Also, for a family car look for a Fiat Doblo or Citroen Berlingo. Yes, it is basically a small van with seats and I wouldn't be seen dead in one normally, but for a family travelling with big suitcases and buggies the boot is cavernous and they are dirt cheap to rent compared to an estate or family saloon.
Our rental for the first two weeks in June is costing a paltry €206 via Recar / CroAuto which is phenomenal - only €250 with 2 kids seats as well.
This included on airport collection and full insurance, not a bad deal at all!
