La Piazza will be offering special set menus for Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. Both events will cost 30€ pp.

Nostalgia's opening times are as follows;

Xmas Eve - 6pm til late.
Xmas Day - closed.
Boxing Day - 12.30pm til 3pm and 7pm til late.
27th/28th - closed.
29th/30th - 6pm til late.

New Years Eve - 8pm til late with entertainment, free buffet and grapes at midnight.
New Years Day - closed.
2nd Jan - 12.30pm til late.

Hell's Kitchen opening hours for the festive season will be ;

December 20th-24th = 12.30pm-4pm and 7pm-10pm.
Xmas Day = Bookings only.
Boxing Day = Closed.
December 27th-30th = 12.30pm-4pm and 7pm-10pm.
New Years Eve = Bookings only.
New Years Day = Closed.
January 2nd = 12.30pm-4pm.

Normal winter hours will resume from January 3rd 2011.

You obviously haven't read today's Torygraph which details a report that claims men do far more housework than women give them credit for . It claims that women do not notice because men don't like to " make a fuss ".

Xmas is pretty stressful for us guys as well . How much booze shall we get in, what can we buy at 5.30 p.m. Christmas Eve for the missus , can we manage to stay awake & watch the cricket all night , will we have to clear up the reindeer s**t off the lawn Xmas morning .........

CAN BALACHE :-

December 23rd/24th = Noon til late.
Xmas Day = Noon til 2pm.
Boxing Day = 1pm til 7pm.
December 27th/28th/29th = Closed.
December 30th = Noon til late.
December 31st = Noon til 6pm.
January 1st = 7pm til late.
They will be serving a Boxing Day buffet including Homemade soup, bubble and squeak, cold meats with pickles and a half bottle of wine for 12.50€ pp.


FLETCHERS :-

December 20th to 24th = Noon til 4pm. Serving Xmas Turkey MDD 3 course 12.50€ (inc glass of wine/cava), 2 course 10€, 1 course 6.95€.
Xmas Day = Closed.
Boxing Day = Noon til 6pm. Serving Turkey Club sandwich & Homemade Soup 5€.

Thanks for your continued good work Sparky, its great to see so many places open over Christmas, it really is becoming a year round resort, I have always wanted to get away over Christmas and the new year, may have to seriously consider it for next year

I am trying to help all the businesses SWS. So many people seem to think that PP closes down for the winter and it is just not true, yes of course many places don't stay open and unfortuneately some have closed permanently but it is not all gloom and doom.
Oh and i forgot to say that the Christmas Lights are on, ok it's not Blackpool Illuminations but at least we have some.

MULLIGANS :-

Christmas Day = Noon til 3pm with entertainment from Guillermo and friends. Mulled wine @ 1.50€ a glass and free mince pies.
Boxing Day = for live football and free tapas.
New Years Eve = entertainment from The Hustlers from 10.30pm.

Really glad to read that The Hustlers will be back in Mulligans for New Year's Eve too! Should be a great night! Shame I can't be there

Sparky is dead right........PP is an ALL YEAR ROUND resort and I think this needs to be advertised as part of the great attraction to the town.

It can be beautiful out of season without the throng of so many tourists. The winter days can be warm and sunny with blue skies and there are pleanty of cafe bars and restaurants open. Remember, PP is a proper functioning town, not just a summer resort.

I think the only problem is the reduced frequency of flights. I believe airlines are missing out on a trick here. They could earn some decent revenue off season.

The crisis has brought all these prices into most peoples reach which is good news. We have not decided where to go New Year yet but there are plenty of sensible offers out there this year. At last the restaurants have listened to their clients and the street and really understand that the money is not available.

The port is much quieter this year, we had a walk around and there were far less people about. It was the same on Christmas Eve but i think the atmosphere was still great.

We had our Christmas Lunch in Hell's Kitchen and i have to say it was worth every cent. We had a couple of glasses each of pink cava before we sat at our beautifully laid table, the food as always was superb (please read my first post on this thread for the menu) and the service from Gary and his lovely wife Ana was second to none, the homemade mince pies had to be taken home as we just could not eat another mouthful but i ate mine last night and they were excellent. Thank you Ian and the gang for a fantastic afternoon .
