Burger King closed down.

Can't say I'm going to miss it as I personally can't stand their burgers. I don't think that many locals will care either as I can't imagine it would be closing if they were making a profit. Ooo er lots of changes... Wonder what will take its place?

I think that really interesting. I wonder on how many occasion has a McDonald's or Burger King closed down in a holiday spot.
I wonder if McD will take the place. Hope not, just saying

I found it very useful as it was the only place you could have a quick bite, on the beach if one wished, open in the winter.

I popped in one day last week and the girl who served me seemed depressed. She blamed it on a toothache. She must have known and was worried about finding a new full time job.

I would imagine not being able to stop in front of it, or even nearby, has affected business quite a lot.

What with Tolo's and now BK being closed, there is absolutely nothing open along the entire front except for Noray ( Stay not included ) which is a sorry state of affairs.

Hopefully, unlike Burger King, Tolo's is only closed for the winter?

However I agree, especially staying in Llenaire, it is a sorry drag back from town to the apartment with everything (including Mombassa) being closed :(

Can't say I am disappointed as we never use them anyway

Big shame. As MdR says it was handy when a quick snack was needed and served a useful purpose on the odd occasion. Always a lot of locals in there whenever I went in but obviously dropped off recently?
Too many foody snobs on here to bother ; - )

P.S. - hopefully the premises will be taken up by someone else soon or it will become another boarded up building.
Are you watching McDonald's?!?!

Difficult as the winter market still doesent seem to be taking off

Not somewhere I would eat but used to see local lads in there when we walked back late to where we were staying

Mcdonalds has actually just closed in Poole on Dorset after about 30 years and I think that is to do with footfall as their High St has gone downhill

Interesting to see what opens up in both these spots

We were in PP over the New Year and I actually thought it seemed quite busy compared to previous times we've been at that period?
There's no reason at all why it shouldn't be a winter destination?
Our flights both ways were packed.

Nick, there is some truth in your statement.

In my humble opinion the BK burgers are ( were ) far superior, and less than half the price than those served at Tolo's. Icecream as well.

I hope something similar opens there as they provided what many would call an essential service to the local community, especially during the winter months.

So did Whimpys during my misguided youth !

A "Wimpy" even would be fantastic. Bit of nostalgia for PP!

" A Wimpy", Now there's a blast from the past. Before you know it someone will be suggesting a Pie & mash shop along with jellied eels although what the locals would make of that I can't imagine.

Never mind, just stick at it, oh, I see by your name you cant.:D

It has closed because the owner of the building decided not to renew the lease. I didn't use it myself but the local kids often had birthday parties there.

best thing was ,you could nip in and use the toilet facilities too
