Five Best Restaurants 2018

1. Ca'n Josep
2. Siurell
3. La Llonga
4. Hibiscus
5. Illa D'Or

1.Cellar La Parrer, for the suckling pig n spuds, plus the red is guaranteed to give one luminous teeth.
2.La Llonga, unbelievably consistent how do they keep up their standards?
3.No 31 (new entry) for their wonderful steaks & sublime Bloody Marys.
4.El Posito Excellent Majorcan cuisine combined with Tonys banter the perfect accompaniment.
5.Llenaire hotel, what can one say ,tranquility at its best.

1. NaRuixa Excellent - again

2. Can Josep Good food professionally served, and 'location, location, location', though I can't comment on the great view around the bay this time because it was just going dark when we arrived. Previous daylight visits confirm fine views from the window tables.

3. Bar Coral An old favourite. And still ticks all the boxes.

4. Laroc A wet night under the awning, but good Italian food cheered us up.

5. The Pines Not your full blown restaurant, I know, but what they do they do exceptionally well. The impeccable cleanliness, from loos to knives and forks is a credit to the owners.

Honourable mentions to Al Fresco Deli, amazing menu, quality food. Dolc Sa Pobla coffee shop and cakes - busy busy with plenty of locals taking a morning coffee. Good to sit for a while and watch the world go by - especially now the buses have found a new home.

Met up with our holiday friends from Scotland and introduced them to Coral and Can Josep. Very positive comments. Last year they were pointed to coffee at Hotel Llenaire, Na Ruixa and the Pines for breakfast.

Based on 2 visits, covering 3 weeks, in spring and autumn:

1. La Llonja Great location, really good dining experience, and excellent value

2. Amazo Very different menus, friendly and enthusiastic, food really good.
A promising new addition.

3. Na Ruixa Excellent range of choices, superb steaks, good Spanish food

4. Stay Normally our no. 1, but the experience this year was not quite as good.
Staff are excellent, food is good, but given the large numbers eating
there, the staff are having to race around, and are less relaxed. This
affects the overall experience

5. Zarzales Our first time there, and enjoyed it. Interesting food.

Based on a couple of visits in August and October and obviously on the places I visited!

1) Stay
2) No 31
3) Stefano
4) Brisa Marina
5) El Posito

Ate mostly in the old town as we were staying there this year.......but our usual last night at Stay and also a lunch there were wonderful. We had been a little worried by some comments, but everything was first class. Two of us had the best seafood paella at can Ferra on the Monday of the biblical deluge.....their awning collapsed, and we were all squashed indoors....great fun! Then a run to find a taxi via at least 3 bars....impossible! We were soaked to the bone but it was quite entertaining too! Got home at around 19h, and I made omelettes for everyone (apparently) ....I haven’t much memory of that!
So..... Stay remains no.1 for the big ladies.
Can Ferra at no. 2, for so many reasons!

We were in Can Ferrar years ago whilst a thunderstorm raged outside. Unfortunately for me I was sat directly in front of the electrical box, when a thunderclap struck and the front of the box hit me on the back of my head. Martin was mortified but we just laughed it off much to his bemusement. He offered us a drink on the house to compensate even though we said it was an act of God. Lovely restaurant run by a lovely family.

Love C’an Ferrar - I am certain it would have got a vote from me if we had gone there this year! There are so many restaurants to visit and you can not go to them all every year sadly ;)

As 3 of your "tongue in cheek" selections are bars why don't you register your votes here http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com...ensa-majorca/14021-best-5-bars-pp-2018-a.html ;).

votes from our household - we eat in different places according to the season and when we are here in June/July I tend to cook more as service and food is not always as good.
1. Can Cuarassa
2. IRU
3. Los Faroles
4. Portofino
5. Centric
Stay is not on our list as we had a bad experience in the summer - service and food not good but going tonight with friends.

We tend to stay in Pollenca so eat there more than the port so only three votes for this year

1. Stay
2. Can Cuarassa
3. La Terrassa (Illa D'Or)

Having visited a number of times this year our top 5 are:

1. Ca’n Josep
2. Cellar La Parra
3. Portofino
4. Finca 31
5. Tolo’s

After 3 visits this year

1. Cellar la Parra - great atmosphere, always a great welcome, delicious traditional food and wonderful value

2. No 31 - a great addition to the Port. Very welcoming. Well cooked and beautifully presented food. Delightful terrace.

3. NaRuixa - traditional family run restaurant. The best steaks in the Port imo.

4. Coral - great family restaurant, always a very warm welcome. Wonderful aioli.

5. El Posito - a tradition for us. Great Sunday lunches and their wonderful suckling pig!

Roll on 2019.

We stayed mainly in the town this year, but ventured down to the port for lunches and a couple of dinners, so here is my top 5.

1. Abbaco - great food and wines, friendly service and fantastic location for long lunches.
2. Bellaverde - again fantastic high quality food, fantastic wines, friendly staff and a beautiful location.
3. el Posito - As always, fantastic food, so friendly service now and wonderful company what more could you ask for.
4. Casa Vila di mare - Fantastic location, great for long lunches, pizzas almost as good as Portofino.
5. La Cabana - Fantastic Tapas, still one of the best in the port, great location and friendly service

For me this year:

1. La Llonja
2. Ca’n Josep
3. La Cabana

Final results will be posted soon :)
