I noticed that today too! They seem such a devoted pair. I hope the eggs are OK. I haven't been able to get the webcam yo work the last few days so it was nice to have it working again.

They have had problems with server issues, a lot of the Livecams have not been working .

Roettenbach webcam working fine for me this morning.
Not only that, but there was a bit of nest maintenance going on just now, and I spotted 5 eggs in the nest.

Some lovely news...I noticed on the Hochstadt stirk webcam that 4 eggs have hatched! Lovely to see the wee ones but the nest doesn't look as cosy as the one in Rottenbach. Probably due to the built-up area I imagine.

Sparky mentioned this webcam a couple of weeks ago...very grateful for that!

Chicks!

One stork just got up and there are now 3 chicks in the nest (Roettenbach) and what looks like another egg (or possibly two?) still.
I saw the egg (shells) on the side of the nest this morning, but they must have just hatched today / last night.

4 chicks this morning and one possible egg, difficult to see.

5?

Very difficult to see, but there is another egg (shell) beside the stork and at the latest brief feeding break I thought I counted 5 heads.
Fingers crossed.
Though it'll be a very busy nest.

Afraid it's 4 chicks, not 5 in Roettenbach, after getting another peek.

Just seen the chicks ...all 5 of them 😄 Think the camera my have been upgraded as the picture is so clear. That’s me hooked for the next few weeks!

Me too! I am watching 4 stork nests now - the Rottenbach one seems to be the most advanced and the cosiest!

Camera was upgraded in March 2020 according to the Q&A on the webpage.

It's a amazing how quick they grow in a few days!

Just been watching the Hochstadt mum stork feeding the chicks -but one of them is just so tiny at the side of the others and didnt seem to get a look in at feeding time. :(

It's the same in Roettenbach and unfortunately, according to the Q&A about the storks, it's a way of natural elimination, as they're unlikely to be able to feed that many chicks.

Found this clip on YouTube, which shows one of the chicks exiting the egg.

https://youtu.be/xa2ntXBfgqk

At 1:30 first crack in egg, at 3:00 crack widens, at 4:45 chick gets out of egg.
