Returned on Monday - The weather was good but very "breezy" some days and the nights were cooler than expected..but where were the sunbeds...not one to be seen on the beach??
As we were only there for a week we ate out most nights.
Monday -
Can Picoteo..Tapas,the wonderful "Tomato bread" and a mixed board..an easy start to the week. Also had several "nightcaps" there..Miguel's banter is "fantastic"
Tuesday..
Brisa marina..Mr B had the sirloin of pork with pepper sauce and I had the sea bass.lived up to our expectations.
I did ask if the soup of the day was by any chance the potage / lentil but it wasnt...we were told later the "the chef say Thursday"
Thursday -
Suttons.
To Start.I shared a lamb tartare which was delicious.Mr B shared chicken "tikka"
Main Courses -Mr B - pork fillet(I cant remember what the sauce was) and it was served with diced, saute vegetables & potatoes - he said it was delicious and so tender.
I had Cod fillet with aioli & pear- again served with the vegetables - it was very yummy and would recommend it.
Friends that were with us had the steak and the mussels (which I have to say looked and smelled fantastic - the best I have seen for a long time)
We also called in there for a lunchtime snacks also for drinks or coffees.I would have to say that although the menu is not extensive it is
it is imaginative and very well cooked and presented. It is a delight to eat there.
Friday -
la Piazza
Mr B and I shared Bruchetta as a starter. He had Spaghetti with meatballs and I had the wild mushroom risotto.it was fine but not a "Wow"
Saturday - back to
Brisa Marina (see previous post)
Sunday - friends took us to
L'Aup -never been there before. It was very quiet and unfortunately too cold to sit on the terrace.
We shared a plate of mixed croquettes to start (the chicken and curried fish). They were a pleasant surprise
For Mains - our friends both had steaks -one had entrecot and the other fillet (which I have to say looked superb)
Mr B had Monk fish marinara and I had the chicken breast stuffed with sundried tomato and sobrasada served on a bed of mashed potato.
Both dishes can be recommended.
I would cerainly like to return in the summer when it would be busier and with a little more atmosphere (and of course be able to dine Al fresco)
Roll on July...a little dieting is now required to rid the "excess baggage" in readiness
