I just love a Paella so my question is, who do you think cooks up the best paella and why?

For nostalgia, we used to lve El Faros :D

According to my wife and daughter - el posito. C'an ferrar is alos good.:D

GG

Best veggie paella has to be Tangos or el Mojito

Anyone know the best places for a Paella (not veggie) for one person.
Pescadora (Mrs Pescador) does not like Paella!
It is usually advertised 'for a minimum of 2persons'.

Sorry but it is always for a minimum of 2 if it is a proper Paella and not a frozen one. :(

Don,t think its frozen, but Tolos do a Paella for one, also had one at the Canteena. Gpm

I have it on good authority Cellar la Para.

Thanks for all the replies.
The Illa D'or photo looks good, will have to try a paella lunch on my next trip.
Usually walk up just have a nice slow beer whilst looking at the wonderful 'paradise like' view from the terrace.
Keep meaning to try Cellar La Parra for a meal. Went in during the day last June (on one of my fact finding walks), and had a conducted tour from one of the brothers who run it these days. Very nice guy, very welcoming. Lots of interesting 'nick-nacks' inside.

Am pretty sure that I heard someone order a Paella for one in Los Pescadores last week so it may worth asking them there.

I have it on good authority Cellar la Para.

Yes - totally agree - their veggie paella is unbeatable!! I dont like fishy paella, so its a compromise for us as never found a place that does a good paella for one - went to a place on the front once, but it wasn't a good experience - like one person said - it must have been frozen - yuk! But we will try some of the other places mentioned when we go next month.

Just back-tracked and had a better look at Carl1955's Flicker photo-page (see above).
Great pictures of Food / Pollensa / Puerto Pollensa / Formentor..... and more food!
Lots of 'foodies' around on this web-site - have a look.

My vote goes to Brisa Marina, for quality and value.

Best Paella

We have tried many and have decided that both Cellar la Perra or El Ancla are the best and most traditional. Only problem with Cellar is that it needs to be ordered in advance whereas El Ancla will make one immediarely but, there is a wait.

El Ancla for me too. Mind you it's years since I've tried anywhere else for paella because hubby (who is from Valencia, so knows about these things!!) insists on the Ancla!

So summing up then - Paella for one at El Ancla, I'lla D'or, Los Pescadores, Brisa Marina, Tango, or Cellar La Parra.
Lilliana's husband (de Valencia) and "who knows about these things" says El Ancla.
If you want the wonderful view 'for afters' choose I'lla D'or or Los Pescadores.
If want authentic surroundings choose Cellar La Parra.
If you want both a decent view and very pleasant staff choose Tango.
If you want to be a bit of a 'local yokel' try El Posito.
Thanks to all who contributed -
