Hi there

We are visiting Pollensa on the 18th September for a week and I was hoping to watch the Man United v Liverpool on the Sunday. Are the best places to go JK's and Bonys?

Thanks!

JK's yes Bonys no.

The sportsbar will have it on, Fletchers will have it on and Mulligans will have it on.

The Pines Bar just off the Pinewalk show the football on 3 large screens with plenty of chairs and tables to watch in comfort. Oh and not to forget its only 2.50€ a Pint

Brilliant, thanks for the replys - think I'll give The Pines Bar a go :D

Roll on next Saturday, I could do with a bit of heat!

If you've got the other half and kids to take into account, you could try Laguna, just behind the Illa D'Or hotel. They have a couple of big plasma screens with Sky TV, plus a pool and sunbathing area that customers are welcome to use.

You could also try Trotters Bar - smaller than all the others mentioned but only 20mtrs to the beach so you could leave the family sunbathing and have a few beers and catch the match in peace. Roy will certainly make you welcome!

Bonys will have it as they have done before just another one to chose from.:D

sorry to hijack your thread but are there any bars in/near Gommar area
which show live football on a Sunday?

Yes, Cafe Bon Dia, Palms and The Golden Lion (i think) all 3 are opposite the Pollensa Park Hotel.

Yes - the White Rose (La Rosa Blanca) has skysports with 2 big drop down screens and plenty of seating and a pool

thanks, that seems closest to our villa,so will be in there on the 3rd october cursing/cheering on the Arsenal (depending on scoreline)

JK`s is fine but it desparately needs a clean up inside ,fans need fixing it is stifling in there.

I've not been there for a few months and it is a very friendly place - but based on my last visit I would agree with cumberland. They also had a problem with their drains at that time, resulting in an unpleasant aroma floating around the place. Hopefully that has been sorted now.

anyone know for sure if any of the bars open over xmas have ESPN?

we're away to Motherwell on the 26th Dec and away again to St Johnstone on the 29th both on ESPN

we need our fix :p

Hi Locals, with the possibility of four El Clasicos over the next few weeks, could you give us an update on the best places to watch Spanish football, I think we know all the places that show sport, but where do the locals go, where is the best place to sample the atmosphere and hopefully watch Barca win, its the Copa del Rey on the 2oth of April, the equivalent of our FA cup if you are lucky enough to be over there then, will the bars and restaurants all be showing it do you think?
Thanks

Sws,

I've watched a few El Clasicos over the years at the Club Cultural. They usually have the big screen on over the stage.

Be warned though that the overwhelming presence , in my experience, has been for the followers of Royal Madrid and that tart Ronaldo. Great fun though when Barca, inevitably, thrash 'em.

Most of the local bars are usually good fun as well.

BonysLad :):)

Marina Bar on the front.........they get a little bit loud in there for Barce I can assure you !!!!

Thanks BL, I rather naively assumed all the locals would support Barca in these games, I dont think they will appreciate my barca football shirt, I may try the Marina bar then, thanks Nick, the louder the better for me

There is also the new Mombasa Bar and I believe the panini bar next door shows spanish matches.
