Hello, I am staying in the Mirimar hotel apartments last week of July and wondering if I hire a car will I find it impossible to park? Can anyone tell me how easy it is to park around there? Thanks very much. Sian

Parking near the Miramar Hotel

It all depends on whether there is a decision to charge people for parking in the blue bays in the area I think. There is a reaonable chance that the Council may decide it's time to get some money in the coffers and apply charges this year.
However, if you don't mind a short stroll, and drive further along the Calle Formentor, the street parking is free. If you bring up the Hotel plan of PP from this site, you can identify it from the area near the Oro Playa Hotel. Hope this helps.

In July it is impossible to park nearby, but if you are happy to walk there are usually places behind Playa D Oro (Cala Formentor ).

Yes Lorenzo the new mayor has said that the charges for parking in the "Blue Zones" will be reinstated at the beginning of May.
Sianh parking in the summer is a nightmare i am afraid you will be very lucky to get near your accomodation.

Thanks everybody that is useful. I was planning to use taxis and buses - will stick to that idea as think it will be much less stressfull!

I agree, you'll be extremely lucky to get parked anywhere near the Miramar.

The closest municipal car park is up near the swimming pool if you know where that is. Always spaces there but it's a fair walk.

A decent car park - only 5 or 6 mins walk at the most!

I agree, difficult to park within 20m of Miramar in July but there is often free parking in the Calle Medico Llopis and the car park which is just a 4 or 5mins maximum walk to the Miramar, apart from market days when you often have to go closer to Oro Playa, Puerto azul which is about 7mins walk.. The replies make it sound like you will be miles away which is not the case. Last summer I went to Miramar every morning and apart from market day I found a space, although did get stressed going round in circles but maybe because I am lazy and wanted to be at the front door!!
