Caravan Purchase usefull information

As some may know I posted on here we were looking for a caravan. Well I managed to find one and completed the purchase today. Wanted to share some information which may come in useful if anybody is thinking of buying a Caravan here.
Unlike England a Caravan here is treated like a Vehicle ( unless its a very small one ) it has its own Licence plate and log book and the system for purchasing is similar to that of buying a car you have to visit the Hestor and sort out the transfer and all the documents plus it has to have its own insurance to go on the road despite we were only taking it from Inca to PP then parking it on our land for it to stay.
I was lucky the people We purchased it from were very helpful and went with me to do all the paper work . And today was a real learning curve. Just wanted to give you a heads up its not like England were you go along pay your money hitch it up and away you go.
The fine for towing a Caravan here without the proper paper work is a min of 1,500 Euro.

Good you found what you were looking for phil but yet again a reminder that we can't just assume because that's how we do things in UK then that's the way it is!
Sometimes things seem (and often are) so complicated in Mallorca aren't they!

Thank you Eleanor yes indeed things are often not as simple as we may imagine. I was so lucky the people who I bought the Caravan from were so helpful. Could have finished up with all kind of problems. I am sure our extra guests this summer and many summers to come will love it. Took some finding but was worth the effort.
