Best 5 Restaurants in Pollensa Town 2013

Ok, if mwc doesn't mind we will also open this thread for the town restaurants this year also, same rules as the port,

1. You must have been to the restaurants you are voting for this year (2013).

2. You must vote on 5 restaurants ONLY that are within the town and surrounding area.

3. Vote from 1st being the best & so on to 5th.

4. Points awarded are 5 points for first, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for third, 2 points for fourth & 1 point for fifth.

We all like restaurants for different reasons i.e food, location, atmosphere, service etc. so please vote as you will, but keep to the rules above as to avoid confusion & watch as the voting unfolds over the coming season & year.

In January we only went to one restaurant in Pollensa, which was Clivia, this is always our number one restaurant in the town.

Thanks PP76, off and running now, I must admit that in all the years we have been going and all the hundreds of times we have walked past we have never been to Clivia, it just doesn't seem welcoming some how, its probably just us, I understand the food and service are very good!

We have been to Trenadora many times over the years during which time it has had a number of different owners, I agree it is good although personally we prefer Clivia which I have always thought was very good value but naturally we all have different views.

To anyone who has not been, try them both.

Owner/chef is now the guy from Casinet in Pollenca which has always been a reliable eating place over the years.

Thanks PP76, off and running now, I must admit that in all the years we have been going and all the hundreds of times we have walked past we have never been to Clivia, it just doesn't seem welcoming some how, its probably just us, I understand the food and service are very good!

We have only been to Clivia once a few years ago, and just felt it was like 'being in church' - so very quiet (you felt you had to nearly talk in a whisper!!)and tables really close together - we just didnt feel comfortable at all - I cant even remember the food though Or maybe it's just us as well

Top for ambience, attentive and friendly service, superb, fresh food & wine has to be Clivia, but also excellent and incredible value is Celler Moli on the northern fringe of the town. Just depends on what you are after - an excuse to dress up and enjoy somewhere a bit more "upscale" or down-to-earth, well cooked and inexpensive local food. To be honest, we have never had a bad meal in the old town in all ten years we have been going there. A good selection of restaurants and bars - try them all and enjoy!!

Just back...tried Spira, as recommended by the owner of our little house, and it was excellent, bright, modern,smart decor, interesting blackboard menu, pleasant service.The prawn and aspargus crepe was delicious!

Thanks for the recommendation - will definitely give this a go in April, along with Ca'n Teresa in the square - which is apparently now offering some Thai curries (the chef's speciality). We tend to eat more in the old town - nothing beats a pre-dinner drink in the square and a stroll afterwards through the beautiful, atmospheric streets...

To be honest, we have never had a bad meal in the old town in all ten years we have been going there. A good selection of restaurants and bars - try them all and enjoy!!

We are the same, about 10 or 11 consecutive years (as many times each year as possible ) and we eat in the town 99% of the time and have never had a bad meal.

Saving my voting until later in the year as we have only been once so far in 2013.
