Hi everyone! Just back after a fabulous 10 days in the Port. Our first visit after 9 years though we have been regular visitors since 1987. First impression was a lot of change which I didn`t like. Sports bar/south beach volleyball/spar shops everywhere/Italian/Chinese/Indian/Mexican restaurants etc. But by day 2 it had already charmed me back, still spotting old familiar faces around, Toni from El Posito shouting out "hello I remember you", catching up with Cathy at Trio etc. We had a fab apt in the building next door to the Miramar above the Ambrosia/Joker restaurant, the views over the bay were just beautiful, something you never tire of seeing. We didn`t do much, stroll for coffee around 11am, lunch on our balcony, then beach from 3-7pm. We ate out every night except one when we got expensive fish n chips from the Codfather and were all put off when a maggot came out of the bag!! Sadly we didn`t make it to Tango as it was too far to walk, my husband has battled cancer for 6 years and he couldn`t do it. We could have taken a taxi but there was 5 of us and we were starting to count the pennies! Value for money has got to be The Golden Lion who still have the best roast chicken on the island!! Next is The Guru, we had three nights there, really good food, very good and friendly service and great music on Monday night with The Fat Cats! Two meals at the Chinese to please my daughter, the one on the corner opposite Vals, must say the food and again the service was excellent. Our only slightly disappointing meal as a El Posito, we had the suckling pig which was not crispy, a little dry, but the paella my sons had was excellent. On average we paid 90 euros for 5 of us, but El Posito was 133 which we felt expensive for what we had in comparison to our other meals. I was very sad to leave, just hope it won`t be another 9 years before I return!

.....It can't have eaten much though!!

Glad you all have a great return visit no Cod Father for us, even if there is extra protein.

It did rather put us off! Almost 40 euros too!

Hope you told them. That is unbelievable and totally unacceptable.

No we didn`t as it was our last night so it was binned and we went to the Guru instead, didn`t want to spoil our last evening. We were eating in as my husband was not feeling well and we had an early flight.
