Im afraid I have to disagree with recommendation on Bar Katy. Unfortunately when we went last week, The beer was absolutely flat, the fish was overcooked on one piece and undercooked on another (how can that happen?) the chops were overcooked and of a substandard meat (in our opinion), and the table was dirty - but then just covered over with a dirty cloth. Sorry, but that was our experience :\

Its weird isn't it? When we were at the Singala end of Pine Walk we used to walk past Bar Katy every night to go to the square etc. We never ate there but it was always heaving with people (mostly brits) and people were queing for tables. The food on peoples plates looked good too. Saying that, 2 couples that we know say they wouldn't go there again after some dodgy experiences. (one family of 4 all suffered tummy bugs the day after dining there and one couple we know just were tactful in what they told us and said they wouldn't recommend eating there) Full stop.

Think its like everything- whats good for some isn't for someone else. Just booked 3 weeks in Singala next summer so'll have to walk past it each night again. If its chocca again we might take the plunge....Only about 48 weeks to go.....thank God for the March jolly there....Thats waht keeps me going............

Hi Sazzle Bar Katy's has a snack menu with the usual hot dogs, hamburgers, toasted sandwiches which you can also have at lunchtime, our party had a mixture of lasagne and chips (nicest chips I have had in PP), Thai Green Curry, King Prawns, Sardines, salad and chips, stuffed aubergines, lamb chops, hamburger, calamari rings, spag bol, do a nice sangria as well, we like the food but it is the setting as well that sells it to us

Hi Joanne.

Thanks for that.

I know what you mean about the setting. We spend most of our time in PP at that part of the beach. It's quiet and shady and just perfect.

Nice to know that there is somewhere childfriendly and closeby to eat (as I mentioned before, I thought Bar katy's was just a drinking place so we never went) at lunchtime, although the food has had bad reviews.

We usually end up eating at Little Italy when we're around there. Will try Bar katy next time (October) and post my thoughts.

I never did get round to telling where we ate on our 10 day trip away back in April did I.
Time to sit down and try hard to remember MMMmmmmm

Take care.
