Just booked my mother and father for their 1st vist to the port after holidaying there myself for the last 3 years! Just wanted to know what everyone's thoughts would be on how to make a great 1st impression reguarding restaurants and bars in the Port? Where should i recommend to them for a great 1st impression?

Hi Simon.

Only one spot for a 1st visit,lunch or evening,the view,setting and food,
its got to be Stay.
2nd day, taxi into town, sit and watch world go by and eat at Il Gardino.

Enjoy yourselves!

I would second that jonquet :)

Agree, tea along at Il D'Or is impressive, also Sunday market in the old town-St malo restaurant there also good for food. what about Los Faroles for the real thing Paella

A table in the walled garden at Los Zarzales!

The view of the pinewalk as it unfolds when walking down the road at the side of the Ila D'Or is fantastic ....... always the first view I give newbies

ALso agree re tea at Illa d'or and also Stay

Simonm,
Ignore the others, go with Annascotland's suggestion. Zarzales is the perfect place to impress any visitor to Puerto Pollensa. A table in the courtyard can't fail to impress. If they are not impressed and delighted with Zarzales, the staff, the service and the food then there is something wrong with them.
Enjoy!
Tony

Hi all

Posted some ideas this afternoon but not displayed yet ?
Am i barred already :) or is it just a delay with me a newbie.
Or maybe I pressed the wrong button.

Gladly recompose & post tomorrow if you like.

Thanks

The (worried) Wizzard

Looking forward to see your popsts, Wizzard.

I have to agree with Jonquet and Debz. Its got to be Stay. Great food, great service, and the best location in the Port.

First impressions - drive in from Alcudia as you first arrive - or better still come by boat!

GG :)

Tony Los Z would be my 3rd night choice! Just think if somone has never been to PP or Pollensa before they may prefer more of a view than a courtyard...albeit a very beautiful courtyard if you're reading this Yolanda!! :)

Hasta luego x

I have booked them into Il D'Or for two weeks so i think that should be a good start for them! :)

Hi :(

Tried again with an edited post from Thursday (Everone else has more or less suggested what I suggested) but just to give my take on 1st impressions.

Again did not get post through. Was logged on to forum. Is there a time limit for been logged on or a maximum post length ? Was i timed out ?

Sure Somon is getting some good feedback anyway just would have liked to
give some of my own ideas.

Thanks

The Wizzard

Hey wizz - chill:cool: posts can time out and it takes a little while to get used to using all the bells and whistles. Keep posting and we look forward to your future imput.

GG :)

Hi Wizz, it looks like your posts have timed out, as you said. I think there is a limit on the time to start to post, til the end. But dont worry, just keep trying m8, but type a little faster maybe :D

Hi

GG & jigggy, thanks for reply.

Will re-re edit my ideas tomorrow and post if OK
But as advised must type faster, 2.15 Sun morning probably
not best time :)

Take 3 coming tomorrow (hopefully)

The Wizzard :D

If you're having trouble timing out on longer posts, you can compose your post in word then simply copy & paste into the forum.

Hope this helps.

Dig The view

What impressed me on my 1st visit to Puerto Pollensa?
1. The Pinewalk.
2. The Square.
3. The friendly locals

Oddly enough not a single one of these required me to pay through the nose for either the view or their friendship.

I am just back from PP tonight and the view from Stay is a massive dirty yellow JCB, concrette mixers and blokes in yellow hats!

Give me that view as you leave Alcudia and head round by "Stinky Korner" It never fails to take my breath away.

Pay to view? I hate to admit this but...........Sitting at the window in the "New" Tango looking across the bay towards the Formentor headland near sunset takes a lotta lotta beating!!!!!!

Take Care

Robjay

Ah yes, Rob. But you know as well as me that come the summer (if Simons parents are going out in the summer that is ) all the builders will be gone, and the view from Stay will be once again the best in the port.
