I can't beleive Bonyslad been back in the port nearly a week and still no report think he must have gone TT .

I'm alive and kicking ,mate. Was going into Nostalgia the other night ( kitted out real nice and cool ) but was stopped in me tracks when I saw the poster for the entertainer ( Character comedian ). OK, could cope with the Benny Hill impressions but he also appears to dress up like the Russ Abbott
( remember him ?? ) archtypical scotsman. Orange beard and hair, Kilt and bl***dy great sporran. Now, you know me , mate , can't condone racial stereotyping of any sort, so round I turn and head for Bonys where we love all and sundry !!!

Will go back though , for the sake of research.

Caught sight of that Smiddy the other night from me balcony. He saw me and scarpered down a side road , hard men of Glasgow , eh !!!!

Hi Bonyslad, Colin was not taking the mickey out of the Scots, it is supposed to be an impersonation of the late great Harry Lauder, he sang a couple of his songs and that was it.

The bar looks fantastic prices and staff very good the only downside is the "ENTERTAINMENT" The music changes are too drastic,when i was last in there were a group of ladies who got up to dance but after a couple of lively tracks the music changed and killed it stone dead maybe the host should look to employ someone who knows how to hold the moment and does not want to be the centre of attention, as for the matador routine PLEASE!!!

Are you still making burgers on the side for Tex Mex, and how well are they rated by the forum? I only ask as my pal John loved eating at Tex Mex and I know you need the encouragement.

p.s. We did try Josep's place in May and I feel to do it justice I would need to revisit, please send money and flight coupons to the usual secret account.

Went to the nostalgia bar and could not fault it. The only problem i have with it is the location. I'ts in what i call "Chav Alley". pity.

Hi all

Just returned from 2 weeks in PP and went into Nostalgia a few times for drinks. It is very smart with friendly service, being brand new it's also clean with excellent toilet facilities!

I had a 16 euro set menu of 3 courses including bread and olive starter and a drink of house wine, beer or soft drink.
The meal was absolutely brilliant in my opinion. Food was excellent quality. I did not see a single plate returned that was not empty.

The young lady English chef appears to be a real find.

Back out for a week late October and can't wait to revisit.

The lad behind the bar says in the winter they will be open at weekends.

Fingers crossed for their prosperity as the owner must have spent a small fortune on doing the place up.

P.S. - in relation to PP being quieter and more expensive this year, yes it is. But in my opinion it is the "specialness" of the place that makes me return.

So glad you enjoyed it, although we have not had a meal yet we like the place. Lucy is the chef, Lee is the guy behind the bar and Yolanda is the waitress. They are all a great asset to the place and i am certain Colin and Michaela will be very happy to read your comments.

Had a drink in Nostalgia last night but it was quiet as we were there earlyish and left around 9pm. We really went to take a photo of the scooter outside as our youngest is mad on them. It seemed a nice place and the waitress was friendly. Wished we could have stayed longer but we were up for an early flight this morning.
