Urgent query if anyone can help ---

Due to got to PP on Wed 8th October 2008.

Globespan phoned today and told me that my holiday at the Alexia Apartments had a problem and that there was a double booking (despite me booking this holiday in August last year!!)

They have offered me alternative accommodation at the Bellamar apartments.

There appear to be 2 blocks - The Bellamar and the Bellamar (pollensa park) apartments.

I have read some dreadful reviews online (mainly older stuff from about 2006), and photos seem to be just a mixture from the whole complex.

Can anyone let me know if these apartments are any good or are they as bad as some of the reviews seem to suggest?

Am I getting ripped off by Globespan? Are the Alexia apartments better? Can Globespan really change my accommodation just like that when it was booked over a year ago and paid for months ago?

Well We have never stayed there but you can check the place out here!click me
hope this helps you ..and hope you have a great time in pp.(any room for me in the case?)

I have stayed at the Bellamar apt on a number of occassions but not for the past five years . They were very clean had balcony's overooking the sea and we had no complaints about them whatsoever. I think they are in a better position than the Alexia .

Now the other ones Bellamar Pollensa Park (right next door) do not have the same layout and a colleague of mine complained when he was given these apartments to stay in as the balcony had no sea view as the trees in front obscured the view.In fact the pictures he showed me actually had branches overhanging the balcony makint it very gloomy .He got compensation after a fight but that is not what he wanted .

I would be very careful about this situation and get Globespan to confirm exactly which one they are referring to.The one's that I syayed in are painted a not very nice shade of mustardy/yellow but they are better inside.

Best of luck

Have just clicked on the link above my previous post and the picture of the apartments are the correct ones but now painted mustardy/yellow

thanks for the replies...

after much to-ing and fro-ing with Globespan, they offered us alternatives in Portugal as well as majorca...

but, they have guaranteed us its the newer block at these apartments we will be in so hopefully it should be ok.

I will report back on our return!

Well folks,

after all the hassle with the booking, here is the verdict on the Bellamar Apartments -

Great location - right on the beach. We had second floor apartments overlooking the whole bay.
The road outside is actually now very quiet as it is now effectively closed to all traffic just past the Bellamar apartments all the way to the marina.
Outside the apartments is a bus stop - down side is the noise, upside is access to get buses all over the island. Alcudia is only 1.20 euros.

The apartments are basic, but clean and a good size. They are well kitted out in the kitchen and are cleaned 5 days a week. Aircon, TV's, etc.

We never even bothered using the nearby hotel's facilities other than for booking a hire car etc.

A 15 minute walk takes you to the town centre, although there are supermarkets, pubs and restaurants closer by.

The Bellamar is the yellow painted block.

All in all, If I scored it, probably 4 out of 5 (lost a mark for being basic and the noise from the bus stop) but nothing about them would put me off going back.
