  • Thread starter Thread starter mwc
  • Start date Start date
I see a few more trip reports posted lately, please also take 2 minutes of your time to post your top restaurants, thank you :D

Just realised I didn't vote after June trip

In no particular order because I can't decide

Los Faroles
Stay
El Posito
Trio
Bar Coral

Seeing as we will be sampling PP delights over the next few weeks, scores as they stand before I go. By the way the scores do not include CD's last post as I cannot score them if they have no order.

1st. Stay - 21 points.
2nd. Casa Vila - 19 points.
Joint 3rd. La Llonja - 14 points.
Joint 3rd. Los Zarzales - 14 points.
Joint 4th. Celler La Parra - 10 points.
Joint 4th. Tolos - 10 points.
Joint 4th. El Posito -10 points.

Now were did I put that suntan lotion :D

Top five last week,

La Llonja
Club Nautic
Swing
Casa Vila
Los farolas

l. El Bistro - my new discovery this year, amazing food & nice service, great view when eating in outside area and a kiss from Davide clinched it!

2. Little Italy - perfect for lunch in the sun, one of my best meals in a unforgettable spot...heavenly! Always feel extremely happy spending lunchtime here.

3. Suriell- always a delightful experience

4. El Ancla - worth a place for their perfect paella and lovely setting and also friendly service. Tried paella elsewhere my 2nd wk.....big mistake! B.I.L. wanted to share one!

5. Tiberi- Great choice for a cheap and chearful meal and I like that little Carrer.

Plenty of other great places but these get my votes this year.

Top 5 restaurants

Bit tricky this year as our top 3 are no longer there:(

1. Trio - for consistently good value food and service

2. Brisa Marina - as above

3. Il Angelo (I think thats what its called) - good Italian food

4. Tribeca - Good food and service

5. Capri - lovely relaxing setting and good food - of course!

Our other top ones are either in the old town (Il Giardino or La Victoria on the other side of the bay)

As a new member of the forum (first post alert!), I am looking forward to seeing how the votes for this go. Me, the wife and kids are flying out tomorrow for 16 days, and intend to sample some of the fantastic places we have been to before, and try some of the recommendations that people have posted elsewhere.

And do please do a Trip Report & Vote on your return. Have a great trip!

This really is a tricky one due to the many good eating places available and not being able to visit them all - or even anywhere near enough of them - even over a decent stay in P.P. So, after thinking long and hard here are my best 5 from the places I did visit this year.
1. La Llonja - Consistently excellent over many years.
2. Na Ruixa - Great food, great service, a little bit of the real Mallorca.
3. Trio - Probably the best value in the whole of P.P.
4. Ca'n Josep - Good food, good value, good welcome, a credit to Josep.
5. Maxims - 3rd visit over last 4 years, very smart, decent food, attentive staff.

Also visited several of the forums very often mentioned favourites, but they weren't able to make the top 5 for me this year, although Cellar la Para came very, very close.

p.s. I should probably give an 'excellent' mention to Hotel Miramar for our regular late evening after dinner drink and coffee. Excellent staff also.

Please add your Miramar recommendation to the top 5 bars thread - inaugural "scores on the doors" coming up on 1st July ..... be part of it with a whopping big vote for the Miramar

Thanks for the reminder 'cd' - now sorted!
Looking forward to seeing the S's-on-the-D's in a week or so.

1. Can Torrens - Great Mallorcan food. Great service.Great value.Great location.

2.Trio - Always good food at good prices.

3.Golden Lion - Best chicken in town.

4.La Roda - Excellent tapas

5.Bodega Can Ferrer - Another place that never changes.

And finally an honourable mention for Isabels. If you want Mallorcan food to take-away you will not find a better place than this.Large portions small prices great food.

Top 5 restaurants during our June visit:-
1. Los Faroles (best fresh Fish in PP, excellent Rabbit with Prawns and staff always efficient).
2. O Lume (ambiance, varied menu selection and standard of food).
3. La Longa (vista, fantastic menu of the day and always delicious).
4. Can Ferra (casual local dining, great value for money and fresh fish).
5. La Roda (by far best Tapas and very reasonable prices).

Can't wait for next visit in nine weeks!

:):):)

Top 5 for June

1 Stay (twice)
2 O'Lume ( twice)
3. La Lonja (the best piece of hake with prawns in a long time)
4.Yatch Club (great place for lunch and much better salads made with interesting salad leaf's rather then the basic stuff)
5. Hostal Bahia ( pepper's stuffed with seafood as a starter mmmm)

Roll on September .

Scotslizzy

Scotslizzy, you are so right about the Yacht Club - wish I'd put it in my top 5! A lovely place to eat - five-star surroundings - and delicious food. Their paella is good too.

Joey Where is Isabels?

Thanks

Joey Where is Isabels?

Thanks

From the A-Z of Restaurant directions (http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com...nsa-majorca/3784-z-restaurant-directions.html)
"On Carrer Roger de Flor. From the roundabout in PP, with your back to the marina, walk along Avenida de Joan XIII until you reach Carrer de Roger de Flor. Walk along this street and Casa Isabel is on the left just before the turn for Carrer Llebeig."

However, I think it's probably easier described in relation to El Posito:
As you leave El Posito (remembering to wave to Sparky at the bar ! ;)) head left (as if going to the sea or the square) at the bottom of the street turn right and Casa Isabel is about 30 yards ahead on the right hand side of the street.

There's a little more info in this old thread too:
