Top 5 from June 2013

Difficult this time, as for various reasons we didn't get far from the centre, and thus missed out on a few places previously visited. But my top 5 are as follows:

1 - Los Zarzales - even though this was also the most disappointing. But only because when booking I didn't realise that there was a set menu on with (excellent) Flamenco show.
2 - Brisas Marina - although having ordered from the menu del dia on our second visit I can see how the prices are kept down. Good value for money, but not as good as the full menu.
3 - Bar Coral - never disappoints, and my wife loves the tumbet.
4 - Little Italy - quality pizzas.
5 - Osteria 15 - good food and setting. Quite happy with our food, interested to hear two other diners complaining about their food.

Honourable mentions to Joker - lamb chops and the Roquefort sauce; El Castinet; and Ambrosia.

Has to be said however that my wife's favourite place was the Grand Cafe 1912, for the cakes, ice creams, coffees, and setting for people watching.

Yes going to find it really difficult to pick my top 5 this year with only a couple of days left now. So in the interest of research we will be off to O'Lume again tonight. It's a hard life but I suppose it's got to be done.

Our top five as follows

Centric
Cellar la Parra
Hells Kitchen
Los Zarzales
La Cabana

Tolos !!! Slated them last year but thought we would try again and go early and kept looking at their lovely salads as we went past !! Food was all excellent and good wine but service not good enough to go with the food They shout at each other all the time but glad we tried again

Brisa Marina Just generally good Food Service wine

Los Faroles Very good lamb and chicken

Everywhere very busy and will have to get organised with booking next time

Interesting you should say that. We didn't find any problem walking up to any restaurants over the last two weeks. Admittedly only looking for tables for two, but usually between 7.30 and 8.30.

I thought that the Port was relatively quiet, but did see a big change between the first and second week's in the age profile of the people.

I agree with Allan Glens all the restaurants have been relatively quiet after 8.30pm with exception Celler de Parrra. (Book in advance).

5 best restaurants

1. Laroc - two meals there and both were excellent. Really well thought out food. Excellent service.
2. Cellar La Parra - never disappoints.
3. Brisas Marinas - excellent.
4. La Lonja - very good
5. Can Ferra - excellent.

Corb Mari , Coral, La Cantina & Marina Cafe for lunch time snacks are excellent and very good value. With the exception of Cellar La Parra the restaurants were not busy and it was not necessary to reserve a table.

Our best restaurants in June were

O'Lume
Centric
El Bistro

This is the hardest choice I have ever had to make in years on this thread & to be honest if rules would allow it I would have put my top 3 in joint 1st place, but I can't so here we are.

1st. Tango - Fantastic setting & food.
2nd. O'Lume - Amazing food & service, Jamies passion & detail are second to none.
3rd. C'an Josep - Fantastic food & service, Josep & his wife are two of the most nicest & hard working people I have ever had the privilege to meet.
4th. La Llonja - Great setting & food.
5th. La Cabana - Fantastic tapas.

Current scores as they stand as follows:

1st. La Llonja - 42 points.
2nd. Stay - 37 points.
Joint 3rd. Brisa Marina - 23 points.
Joint 3rd. Cellar La Parra - 23 points.
Joint 4th. Casa Vila - 21 points.
Joint 4th. Los Zarzales - 21 points.
Joint 4th. Trio - 21 points.

All very close in the top 5 & below though very long time to go yet. Please keep the votes coming.

Just back from 8 nights.
1 Laguna ... just love Laguna, ate here at lunch and evening, early doors drinks and swam in the pool.
2 Stay ... first time there in the evening, very good food.
3 Centric ... another first time, again lovely food, and free bubble!!
4 Casa Vila .... good food, shame about the bill.
5 Ambrosia ... another new one, very good value and great food, friendly staff.

(also mention for Bellavista for coffee .... still my favourite. The Yatch Club, finally found it and loved it for coffee and lunch. Naciente, never been before but had a lovely relaxed evening meal. Went to Osteria no 15 for the first time, sorry but food not great and service very very slow)

Best 5 restaurants in PP

Just realised we didn't vote for our favourites following our 3 week sojourn in June!! So here goes-

1. Ca'n Josep without a doubt. Great food and the friendliest Restuarant .

2. Stay - great food and setting

3. Hells Kitchen - for food and variety - great value.

4. Tribeca - good food and really good value with their pricing structure.

5. Manduca - never been before June but introduced by a resident and found the locals eat there. Enough said but very nice different reasonably priced food.

Back to PP in a couple of weeks so will have to try them all again and some others!!!

Just back from 10 days in PP and our top 5 this time would be:
