Top 5 for 2016

1. Celler La Parra (consistently good food and service)
2. La Llonga (great menus, service and views)
3. Can Ferra (local options, value for money and service with a smile)
4. Los Farloes (Fish is the best)
5. Brisa Marina (Food,service and location)

First year I've taken off Centric and will not be returning. Always book days ahead and table never ready, service poor and food quality going down hill. Are they getting greedy or has the best chef and manager gone to Pollensa Town and even expanded at the expense of their once successful venture? (2 visits of 3 weeks this year).

Top 5

1). C'an Josep. Food , view, host definitely No. 1

2). Ca'n Cuarassa Always superb

3) Stay. Great restaurant, food and service excellent plus the view

4). Ikebana. Great paella nice people

5). Swing. 1st visit and it was very good.

So many great restaurants with excellent service and food, Portofino/Coral Bar/ Na Ruixa all providing excellent value for money, except Brisa Marina never again!!.

First year I've taken off Centric and will not be returning. Always book days ahead and table never ready, service poor and food quality going down hill. What a great pity, their service used to be one of their strongest points. They said Giovanni was going to stay and manage in the Port. I will give it a go next month and hope that things are back to normal once things are quieter.

PS La Parra has also become our favourite this year!

Marilyn, Giovanni is going to be based at the new Centric in Pollensa, at least that's what he told us in June. When I walked past Centric in the Port the other day only Josė was there. I think they have been a victim of their own success and have struggled to cope with how busy they are. Certainly our last couple of visits the service has been slow and I'm sort of a bit fed up, like another poster mentioned, the strange mix of bean sprouts and stir fry with a lot of the meals. Not terribly innovative!

Debz - Oh I hope not. When they opened the new restaurant in April, Jose was based in Pollensa and Giovanni told me he would be staying in the Port. They had such a good team in the Port, but as you say they could be victims of their own success.

I don't know if they participate in the forum. If not, I think a bit of constructive feedback from their regular clientele might be a good thing. It doesn't sound as though they will be retaining their numero uno place in top 5 restaurants this year, does it?

Yes there will quite soon. This was the only restaurant/bar that didn't deliver on all fronts.

Last visit of many this year next month - then we will vote. Went to Centric in May but have not returned in the summer months as it looked too busy and hectic - maybe or hopefully normal service will resume in October. Will the one in Pollensa close in the winter!

We visited Centric twice in June and enjoyed it but the service was really slow. It was very popular and clearly not enough staff. We really liked Na Ruixa which doesn't get mentioned very often and also tried the little place with the fig tree on the pine walk, can't remember the name, which was good. Small menu but what we had was good.

After visits in May & September and much deliberation my top 5 restaurants are:

1. El posito (great meal & atmosphere)
2. Stay (equally good meal & brilliant setting)
3. Can Joseph (good meal & excellent service)
4. Capri (fantastic setting on a warm evening)
5. Centric (new find this year)

Mrs Hamcas selections are slightly different,

After our one week visit in August, here are our favourite five. We stayed at Son Siurana for our first night as a treat and ate there, fabulous place, so just had 6 evening meals in the port,.

Top five are
1. Zarzales
2. El Posito
3. Swing
4. Centric
5. La Cabana

All excellent. Had one disappointing meal at Osteria No.15, very bland pasta dishes, wouldn't return.

Tricky this year as we had 2 visits and also sometimes if you eat somehwre once it is great but not a second time !

1 Stay Still our favourite We love the balance of the set menu (found the al a carte portions too much ) the service and the situation

2 Brisa Marina Great Seafood Paella and other nights wonderful Garlic Prawns followed by fresh fish

3 Can Ferra Hadnt been for a few years but did this year Simple good food I wish I could get a Sole here for about £8 !!!! Great service and lovely to see Senior saying "my boy will look after you "

4 Los Zarzales Great suckling pig My husband was looking at the seafood paella at the table next door so know what we will be having next visit !

5 La LLonja We like these balanced menus but situation and service not as good as at Stay

As we have said before spoilt for choice in PP Missed out Centric and Osteria this year Bit overcrowded now Tiberi a great favourite for Burger and chips The best when we fancy something more basic We have never looked at the rest of their menu because of this ! Next year will venture further upthe Pine Walk and try Swing as well
