It looks like at least one of the baby storks is getting ready to fly the nest, i have noticed it is preening it's feathers and flapping it's wings a lot ;).

Sparky - just a bit worried about one of the young storks - it is just sitting there looking quite sorry for itself and the mother is jumping up and down and flapping her winds and 'tapping' the young one but it is not responding much - looks very sorry for itself and doesnt look well really:( Hopefully it is just having a lie in:)

I think its bad weather that's causing them to lay low. I have only seen three of them today though, has one flown the nest already, or is it an adult who has been out all day?

They are all still there, the mother/father has a red beak and has just come back with their dinner ;).

I often think that as well:) Just sitting there all day and then all squashed together trying to sleep at night - no wonder dad sleeps standing up:D Talk about overcrowded housing.

I appreciate that it has nothing to do with P Pollensa etc., but it does make fascinating viewing, I'm hooked! If you hit the 24hr button you can look back at some archive film, showing some speeded up film spanning a 24hr period on a specific date. Back in March you can see the adults preparing the nest, followed later by the eggs (3 in total), and then the three chicks. The sad thing is that there were 3 at one stage, until quite recently in fact, all looking very strong and growing up fast. Anyway, now there are only two, and it was very amusing last evening watching the 'mum' trying to clean their incredibly small abode. It reminded me of being at home, trying to hoover the lounge floor when my girls were younger. You'd ask them to move their feet, but do you think they'd listen?! No, they'd be stubborn and just stayed where they were and i had to work around them - just like a pair of storks!

Are there really only two chicks left? Has one flown the nest or did something happen to it? Someone said one looked a bit poorly the other day. They are so big now it's hard to distinguish between them and the mum

I've only just noticed this morning that the chicks appear to be ringed on their right legs. Who on earth climbed up there to do that ?!?

And doesn't the 'whatever it is that the nest is built on' wobble a lot:eek:

I'm assuming either the mum or dad flies off for the day? Looks like two adults and one chick at the moment, but could be a large chick, a small one and an adult! I wonder if the others have actually left the nest and this is the last / smallest to go. Think mum is getting fed up with the cleaning... she keeps leaning over the chick in the hope he will move I think! At least the nest is more stable today, yesterdays weather had it moving a bit!

I can't get the stork webcam to play (or any of the others on Live cam pro):( Is anybody else having a problem? (All other webcam sites are fine)

The storks look so miserable in the rain today:( I dont think the adolescents have any intention of ever leaving home, despite 'mum's' attempts to show them how to fly - think she's given up now!
