She has the same problems as mums all over the world! At least when they do leave they wont return with their washing!

Ooh my gawd, When I first posted about the storks back in June, little did I know what I had started :)

PS I noticed that 2 of them have been ringed Just above the knee ( If a stork has knees )

They must be the adults which have been ringed before. They do ring them regularly evidently. Thanks for finding this pollensafan, it does make an interesting change to catch up on some wildlife that stays in the same place - for now! ;)

Just hope we dont miss the Big Day when they finally decide to test their wings:)

The poor storks are looking very bedraggled and miserable, it seems like it's another wet day in Rottenbach :(.

I havent noticed the male stork bringing back much food lately (in fact I havent seen him at all) and the mother and two 'chicks' seem to be pecking aimlessly at the next - I do hope I am just not seeing him and that they are not going hungry - especially after enduring the rain all day during the week:(

I've been thinking exactly the same thing! Haven't seen anyone flying in for days. Is it mum and two chicks in the nest? Ive always thought it was three chicks! Two are ringed so that makes sense that they are the chicks. But why when they are so big doesn't mum make them leave?

Only two storks in the nest this morning!! So has one chick flown( if there are three) or is it two chicks and mum has gone to get some grub? The two in the nest are both sitting down so not sure if they are the ringed chicks

Typical bloke....off down the pub when the bairns get toilsome!!

One is flying backwards and forwards to and from the nest to the lake. I think it's one of the babies doing practice flights :) The other two look a bit jealous;)

It's taking longer flights each day, i think it will soon leave the nest for good :D.

The young storks have flown the nest, at last.:)

UPDATE: 10 minutes later they're all back!!

The reason they are back is because the young ones didn't understand the parents telling them to go. It came across as all mumbled so,,,, wait for it,,,,,,,

"They couldn't tell stork from mutter " I know, I know, I can hear the groans from here :)

All three storks are back on the nest! I think they are all having practice runs down to the lake and probably return in anticipation of Mummy stork returning with food. Fascinating!

The nest has been empty for nearly 45 mins - never known it stay empty for this long - have they all gone on a well deserved holiday;) (Must add I havent been sitting here looking at it for that length of time!)

Looks like one has come back with what looks like a bunch of flowers (honestly!), and there's nobody to receive them so they've been dumped on the 'floor'! Typical, you try and do a good deed and....
