Hi Folks,

I visited PP 19th-26th July with my family. You may remember I posted regarding suggestions for a triple birthday celebration.
I know how useful this forum was for me to refer to so I took some photo's of meals we enjoyed to share with you all.

I can honestly say that we didn't have a bad meal and service was always good (apart from the very last meal but I won't name names). PP remains a beautiful resort and I know that my 4th visit certainly won't be my last.

Arrival Day
Having caught a 6.30am flight out of Liverpool, lunch was our first stop.

Chicken Burger & Fries. :) Beautifully cooked and lovely flavour combination.
It was a perfect start to the holiday.

After reading a review on here, I suggested Nicos for an evening meal. There was 6 of us in the party so restaurants that could cater for mainstream pallets was always a popular choice.

I chose the ribs (I will always choose the ribs in restaurants like this)

It didn't disappoint and the home-made chips were also delicious. I was very happy with my meal.

I have a picture of hubby's meal but can't remember what he ordered. Was it the 'Crazy Chicken'?

What I do remember was the service, it was friendly and efficient. The outside tables were full when we arrived, so we opted for a table inside. It was lovely in the ac and we were one of the first indoor diners. By the time we left, it was full both inside and out!

Another meal to enjoy was breakfast! We had breakfast in our apartment most mornings but it wouldn't be a holiday without a full English once. We tried Nostalgia.

As you can see it is nicely presented and not overfacing. There was also toast and plenty of tea/coffee. The staff were again very friendly and they pride themselves on ingredients being true British produce. It's just how I would like my full English to be served at home.

Not much point in mentioning if you are not going to name, we all have had bad meal at sometime or other may be chef's off day !!

Bobbybun's Trip Report July 2015 Part Two

One evening, we tried to dine at Bar Coral but as we hadn't booked, they just couldn't accommodate 6 diners. We started walking into town using the road behind the pine walk. I happened to look right and spotted Tango's. They had plenty of space and we were quickly seated. The MDD was exceptional value.

I began with Corn on the Cob. My 10 year old was so jealous when this succulent, sweet cob arrive. She chose this on her second visit.

For my main, I had the seabass. It was lovely to have potato's as opposed to chips!

The manager has excellent customer service skills, he particularly made my Mum feel very special as the Grandma of the group.

One evening, hubby and I were able to escape and dine just the two of us. Again, following recommendation from this forum, we headed to El Posito. Needless to say the food was delicious. Hubby tried the tumbet and we made a note not to leave it so late in the holiday to order this traditional dish again.

I had garlic prawns

Note the actual pieces of garlic. They were perfect, the right balance of flavour and sweet.

I followed with the lamb & rosemary

Yum, just looking at that picture and remembering is making my mouth water. It tasted like traditional roast lamb from my childhood. Such a treat.
We really relaxed at El Posito and can see why it is a favourite with so many people. :)

End of Part Two

Yes, please share the bad as well as the good!

Germany is doing its part to end the 'food porn' obsession by making it illegal. And it's all to do with copyright.

Pictures of meals served with the #foodporn hashtag may be popular on social media networks across the globe, but that is irrelevant to Germany's legal system.

The nation's Federal Court of Justice recently extended its copyright protections to include 'elaborately arranged foods', and ruled them to be the artistic property of its creator.

Essentially, this means that you'll need to ask the chef's permission before taking and uploading a picture of your latest meal.

So, in order to show off the culinary creation beyond the restaurant walls, you'd need the chef to okay it - even if the photo is just for Instagram or a blog and not intended for commercial use.

However, a German legal services website, Anwalt.de, wrote in a post this week that whether or not a meal is considered 'art' depends on the meal's design.

That means that posting a photo of your fast food takeaway, for example, is not likely to be a problem.

Restaurants allowed to forbid photos

Still, the website suggests being cautious - especially if you're frequenting an establishment that falls somewhere between world-class and worker's cafe.

"If you want to be absolutely on the safe side, you should probably ask the host or the chef," the website reads.

As it stands, however, there's been no precedent set of a chef actually suing someone for taking a photo of their food.

But diners should remember that even if they don't run the risk of copyright infringement, restaurants are still allowed to forbid them from snapping pics at dinner.

Ha ha no more pizza pics !

Thats what I thought! Great reports and fantastic picture I can almost smell the food, looking forward to the rest of the posts and thanks for taking the time to post them for us.

Thanks for the comments.

With regards to the final meal, I didn't name as I thought it was frowned upon in the forum. I am happy to name - we chose El Casinet on the seafront. We were dining at 6pm with the taxi due to pick us up for the airport at 8.30pm.

The waiter was awful, so disinterested in us and we felt like an inconvenience. We saw a family get up and leave without placing an order. We shrugged and laughed it off.
I don't need reminding that everyone has a bad day, I am more than generous when it comes to customer service. However, I have since read recent trip advisor reviews and it seems I am not alone in my thoughts....perhaps some training is required.

As regards to putting up pictures, as a busy Mum, I am unable to put too much time into writing a review with costs, tastes, wine choice etc. As the forum has been so useful for me, I wanted to give something back and chose to take pictures. I had time to make the posts yesterday as I am off work, ill. Copyright never even entered my mind. I really haven't got time or energy to worry.

Thanks for viewing. I enjoyed my trawl through photographs and could taste the meals again.

Bobbybun, i too enjoyed your reports and the pictures, i don't really know what Plackeyman's post is about but it seems that it's a German issue (maybe they are just jealous because their food isn't as attractive ;)), we love to see the photos on here and i don't think any of the restaurants you have reviewed would be upset to see them on the forum in fact quite the opposite :D.

Yes, well done Bobbybun.

All reviews are very useful, as we only have two weeks a year out there and it helps an awful lot if we know where to go for a memorable meal, and where not to go!! Thanks very much for a great review. Enjoyed it a lot!!

Yes really feel the picture does tell the story without too much other detail needed

Glad you had so many good meals

Yes indeed, I mean how much joy can there be staring at some pickled cabbage and a knackwurst. :D

PS. Stand by for someone with a sense of humour failure to come on and wax lyrical about the delights of German food.

Sauerkraut!!!!! ;)

I think the photos in post 3 show where one of my all time favourites El Posito has gone wrong this year

Prawns are expensive ( 16 euro ??) but top quality

Lamb is excellent but the lazy soggy chips and the veg mix are really poor and take away from the meat (I think they do proper potatoes and veg with the fish dishes)

Would much prefer they got back to proper side dishes given the cost, would now put Na Ruixa and Coral meat dishes ahead of El Posito

In their defence i don't think you can say that they are being lazy, the chips are not frozen, they are hand cut as is the veg mix.
