Boquer Valley To Close To The Public?

I have to say I've never done but returning in May..so can anyone give me details or where can I get a map etc;
Where do you start? Do you come back same route? How long? I would be grateful of any advice. Thanks

You start at the roundabout on the bypass close to the Ora Playa and you follow the path,as you near the cala there is a choice but only really one way in and out so whichever you take you'll be ok.

There are also arrows in some places, and follow the cairns that people build as well, as lolipop says theres only one way in and out.

We've only done the walk once and it was eventful to say the least!


Chelseadons who had gone behind some bushes (use your imaginations!) got chased out by a three legged goat who despite his disability was very quick on his remaining ones! Then a bit further on a fairly large snake slithered across the path right in front of us And finally, and if I may say quite dramatically, I tripped and fell flat on my face.....the grazed knees that lasted the rest of the holiday did not show off my tan to it's best advantage


(And before you say anything Bella...NO I was NOT!!!!)

On my exersice route around PP I pass the start of the walk. Last week there were still lots of cars parked there with a lot of walkers on their way up or down.
So for now it appears to be still open.

Is this a fairly easy walk or hard going

Its very easy I would say, almost flat with a little bit of a descent to the 'beach' at the far end.

Sensible shoes though, no heels

The goats are friendly

I'm staying in Siller. In like a little triangle of a few roads that's kind of just off the main roundabout that links Avenguda de Joan XX111 and what I think is the bypass road (Calle Ramon).

I think this is near to the start, am I right?

Yes,the start is just off the bypass, just beyond where Trio is on the lower road.

I have done this walk a few times now and 90% of it is easy and flat. However, the last bit down to the pebble beach is a bit tricky. Lots of gorse bushes either side of narrow pathways.

When I last did it someone had marked stones with a red dot to show the easiest most direct route.

Wear sensible footwear and you should be okay.

Maximum of 45 minutes each way and well worth it.

Guys,

Can you access the sea at the end of the walk for swimming / snorkeling? The thought of a nice walk in June with a refreshing dip at the end of it sounds very tempting.

Yes you can, and believe me when we do the walk in August, you need to cool down, last year it was nearly 40c when we did it, the beach is like Mallorca was centuries ago, no buildings, nothing except for a shack on the rocks that someone stays in. The water is crystal clear and ideal for snorkeling although quite often a few jelly fish, also all the flotsam and jetsam seems to collect here, the usual plastic rubbish discarded by the modern world, still beautiful though.

Thanks, so do I! That picture is nice and the sea looks so refreshing. I'm guessing I'll be able to pop into the tourist information office and get walk leaflets etc?
