Picking up on this old thread, it appears that C'an Pancho (now C'an Panxo) has been refurbished and is under new management after being a fixture in the Port for the best part of 50+ years.

I've not tried the new Panxo yet but are there any reviews and also news on Katie, Enrico and family who always made a visit there worthwhile?

Sounds like they have retired and are still around in the port so you may bump into them still!

Just wanted to bump this thread and wondered if anyone has now tried the new Can Pancho (or Panxo) restaurant as it seems to be getting amazing Trip Advisor reviews?

Yes Kate we were there twice in June. One excellent meal and the other very good. On Our first visit we arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were offered a drink on the house of our choice with a seat in the lane (like old days of queuing for Tots).

The restaurant has been renovated and has new tables chairs. Complete new menu which I would say is Spanish with a modern twist. Not a huge menu which is good. Also a reasonable wine list. You do need to book as very busy. Not rushed and very good service. Best homemade bread and Aioli.

I think Can Panxo is leased from the original Can Pancho as we saw Maria on one of our visits but cannot say for sure. Well worth a visit.

Me and Mr Yorkie ate at Ca'n Panxo on Saturday 28th June on the recommendation of our Mallorcan Estate Agent - Steph from Sol Mallorca. We popped along in person to book some time late afternoon on the actual day. It looked shut but the door was ajar so nothing ventured, we went in and shouted Ola and Hello! A very nice chap came out of the back and we asked in our best Spanish (copied from the internet) if we could book a table for 2 for tonight at 7. No problem and he asked us to write it in their reservations book.

We had a fabulous meal. We were having a bit of a celebration so we started with a half bottle of Cava followed by mini chorizos to start for me and melon and ham for Mr Yorkie. We followed with lamb for him and pork for me. We also had a bottle of Dos Marias Mallorcan wine. The dessert option was amusing as they came out with a tray with 4 or so items in little jars. We thought you would choose and they would bring you one. No, you pointed and it was straight off the tray and on to the table. Loved it! I had pannacotta and Mr Yorkie had tiramisu. We followed that with coffee, brandy for Mr Y and a dessert wine for me, followed by 2 more complementary dessert wines. Well ... it was a celebration.

All very friendly, laid back and with just the right amount of attention. We were taking pictures of ourselves and one of the staff stepped forward and volunteered to take a picture of us together. Nice touch. It wasn't the cheapest place we have ever eaten - about 80 euros - but it was the best so far and they coped nicely with my gluten issues too.
