Daily/Short Term Car Hire

Any advice on hiring a car in PP on a daily or short hire basis please. In order to save money it may work out cheaper to taxi from airport then hire this way. But I cant think of a local company. Thanks.

A couple of years ago we used Hiper in PP for a 3 day hire, from memory it was very reasonable and had the benefit of full/empty tank. Quite often, out of season, they have special offers.

Bella if you are only going for a week to 10 days it would work out much more expensive to get a taxi to and from the airport and then hire a car on a daily basis. Over a 2 or 3 week holiday this can be an option but only if you hire a car for a few days.

Mind you think how fit you'd be if you walked everywhere!!!!

Other alternative is to take the bus from the airport (or taxi if you want) do without a car for a few days then hire from someone like Hiper in the Port but leave at the airport. You can book one ways via most of the internet agencies so hopefully you should get a better price now than waiting until you are there.

Realise that Debs, but its not for us. Friends asking who dont want a car every day, but feel it may be a good idea to have for a couple of days to help with shopping.

Formentor Motos on the seafront next to Burger King may also be an option as is Arbona Cars who have a garage just off the market square. Have not used Arbona but have used Formentor but for a week,but they do advertise days.

You beat me to it Lollipop! Have just found those two in PP. What frustrates me is when you have to put in all the details before you can even get a quote for one type of car! Much prefer it when you can see the prices at a glance. But at least thats 3 in the local area. Another one that crops up is Vanrell, although they are in Alcudia they will deliver.

Europcar are also in the Port, we took a faulty car back there once.
We ended up with a much better car from the Port office than we had been given at the Airport

If I remember correctly it is very near the traffic lights.

The walk in Tourist days rates will probably be much more than booking online though.

Yes Mark, we do use Europcar ourselves because they have an office locally too. Always pick up from airport though. Will try and see if we can pick up various local price lists and compare.

I know it's winter, but the car we had last week was from Carjet, Citreon C3 for 78 euros(7 days) plus a full tank of petrol 55 euros. Not bad, at all! Once again i returned the car with half a tank, not ideal, but it's up to me to use it, the weather was so good we did not use it a lot, but had it been bad then i probably would have used most of the fuel. Still a good deal.
