With so many negative posts regarding car hire I thought I would add my experience.

We arrived at Palma early and I sent the others to collect the cases whilst I went to get the car.
So with some trepidation I approached the car hire desks, mostly deserted and only 1 person at the Auriga Crown desk it was only 9am. 5 minutes later I was served paper work sorted, only 20 euros extra for the full insurance as quoted by DoYou. Strange part was the car was supplied on a full to full basis, they said they had problems with the petrol company.

Went to the car park to collect a new model Focus estate with about
20,000km on the clock, couple of bumper scrapes but other wise perfect condition inside and out.
Landing time to driving out of the airport 45 minutes.

When I returned the car they didn't even check if I returned the car with a full tank of fuel.

Don't know if I was just lucky but can't complain about either company, very good all round.

Great to hear a good news story on the car hire front !

But tell me... when u booked with Do U Spain... did u request that particular car hire Co... or was that what u were given ?

I was impressed with the DouSpain prices and went with them, but was booked with an off site hirer and it hasn't been a good exp. So interested to know if u can request airport based hire Companies.

I didn't request any hire company, that was just what they gave me.

If they had given me an off site agent I would have cancelled as I did with Carjet a couple of years ago and they changed my booking to Goldcar.

Thanx for that... I was really put off by this trip and wasn't going to use Do u Spain agian... but need a car for oct/nov.. so will maybe give them another try.

You know..it's a shame that all us PP car hirers couldn't get some sorta 'car pool' sorted.... we must have bought a good few cars between us ! lol
